Condizione: new. Pages: 28 Language: Russian, English. The collection of six pieces for violin and piano is the album of pictures to H. Ch. Andersen's fairytale "The Flint". Witty brave soldier is endowed with dashing march-like melody (No. 1), recognized also inside the other pieces. Thus in the central section of the piece "Pr…incess" (No. 3) the soldier's theme is varied, serving as some connection between the personages. The central section of the piece "Imprisoned" (No. 5) reveals songful melodic elements from the "Princess" accompanied with pitiful cues generated out of the intonations from the piece "Soldier". These are exact scenes written by Andersen: 1) sleeping princess, delivered by the magic dog, and the soldier charmed by this vision; 2) imprisoned soldier dreaming of the beautiful princess, right in the most vital moment of his life. The witch (No. 2) is described by means of the sequence arranged in dotted rhythm and outbursting impetuosity, reminding of her complaisant dogs. There is one more episode, when prickly rhythm is stained in dissonant intervals, thus adding most essential dab of the brush to the witch's portrait. The same evil grin peeps out in the piece No. 4, when sham friends of the soldier demonstrate their love to him, or maybe to his purse temporary packed with money. However, the soldier reminds of the magic flint that will set him free (No. 5). The final piece "Soldier's Joy" (No. 6) is connected with dynamic episode of the "Witch", for that magic flint belonged to the witch herself and the soldier managed to summon up the dogs for to escape and to defeat the evil. These most vivid scenes would be useful for young musicians of middle and senior age, while everybody is welcome to listen to the musical embodiment of the great Danish master's creation, permeated with kindness and wisdom. All the pieces entering this collection are composed on the base of the Jewish folk songs, taken from the "Anthology of the Jewish Folk Songs" published by the "Compozitor * Saint-Petersburg Publishing House" in 1994. These songs were written down on the vast territory of the Wester…n Europe. Of course, they were fed by the neighbouring cultures (the Ukrainian, Moldavian, Romanian etc.). Generally most of them are represented unchanged. Zolotnitsky resorts to variation and variant principles of the material evolution, peculiar for folklore. Polyphonic methods are also the significant stimuli for such a facture. Original modal turns, strokes and ornamentation reveal the national nature in the melodies supposedly belonging to the bordering peoples. The songs arc partially given translations from the Yiddish, close to the underline ones (realized mainly by A. L. Kaplan), the majority are accounted in poetical form, adjusted for to be sung simultaneously with the melody (created by Ye. Ya. Hazdan on the base of A. L. Kaplan's word for word translations). The author's zealous inquisitive passion for the Jewish music shall undoubtedly penetrate under the skin of both performers and listeners, filling their hearts with supreme luck.
