This history of the Wantage Tramway was first published by the Abbey Press, Abingdon in 1958 and copies of the original edition are fairly scarce as so it appears is this quality reprint got out by Adam Gordon in 2002 and limited to 500 copies. The book extends to 158pp plus additional un-numbered glossy pages containing 39 plates, mostly black and white photographs but also some examples of tickets. Comprising seven chapters and appendices the text also includes seven maps and diagrams. Despite being a reprint the photographs are of reasonable quality. Cardiff's trolleybuses lasted until 3rd December 1969, almost into the 1970s. You'll need to be 60 or over to remember them. The book is a most thorough history of these environmentally friendly vehicles which served Cardiff. As well as transport enthusiasts, the book should be of interest to anyone with a nostalgic or historic interest in the city of Cardiff itself. The published price is £50 but this copy is now on offer at a substantial discount. Book weighs 1713g.
