Biography of Frank McNamara, who, as a pilot in No 1 Squadron, Australian Flying Corps, during a bombing mission against a Turkish railway in Palestine, stopped to pick up a fellow pilot who had been downed near a force of enemy cavalry. For this he earned his VC. He joined the post-war RAF and attained the rank of air vice-marshal and served in senior commands with both the RAAF and RAF during WWII.…
