Monet tended Giverny from 1883 to 1926, and the gardens were restored in 1977. The color photos, while clear and detailed, are nonetheless suggestive of the riot of colors and complexity of Monet's work, and, in this person's opinion, are the finest color photos of a garden ever published. v.g. copy in d.j.
