This book is the personal story of the World War One experiences of Canadian ace Lt Colonel Billy Bishop, who ranked fourth among the aces of that war. Enlisting as an infantryman, he soon transferred to the Royal Flying Corps and rapidly proved hs skill and daring in the air. He received every British decoration for valour, including the Victoria Cross. He became a pioneer figure in the development of the Canadian Air Force and headed it as Air Marshal in World War two.
