Profusely illustrated with utterly delightful full color illustrations for each number and instrument.Illustrations realistic except for the silliness of the animal playing the instrument. Glossy illustrated covered boards are clean and bright and unmarred. Binding is firm. DJ is bright, colorful with a closed tear near spine. DJ has light edge wear and is NOT price-clipped. Interior pages clean with NO tears, creases or writing. White end papers show shadows of foxing or browning. However the interior pages which have full color illustrations do NOT have foxing. Illustrations are bright and rich in color. This is NOT an ex-lib nor a remainder. Rare to find a children's book that is 37+ years old in such fine condition. The lower spine is stamped in gilt, "THE KIPLING PRESS". Illustrated with several full-page color plates and in black & white by Arthur Suydam, best known for his great work in comics and graphic novels. This is a unique and wonderful depiction of the classic children's work. There is some light foxing to the upper page edges as well just a bit to the fore edges. The interior is very clean and tight. This hardcover edition is quite rare. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 254 pages.
