This copy is smyth sewn. Smyth sewing is a method of bookbinding where groups of folded pages (referred to as signatures) are stitched together using binder thread. Each folded signature is sewn together individually with multiple stitches and then joined with other signatures to create the complete book block. This is the traditional and best method of bookbinding.

The cover is free of shelf-wear and the binding is tight. A former owner has written his name in felt tip on the top corner of the front paste down and across the top edge. Otherwise the pages are clean and unmarked. The dust jacket is also near fine with just very minor shelf-wear to the extremities.
