April 1837 in Paris; 19. Februar 1901 in Toulouse) war ein französischer Schriftsteller und Literaturkritiker. Silvestre studierte an der École polytechnique mit der Absicht, später in der Armee Karriere zu machen. Dieses Studium konnte er 1859 abschließen, doch seine Laufbahn als Offizier ging nicht in Erfüllung. 1870 bekam er eine Anstellung im Finanzministerium und konnte dort derart erfolgreich reüssieren, dass er 1896 in die Ehrenlegion aufgenommen wurde. Im gleichen Jahr berief man Silvestre zum Inspecteur des Beaux-Arts. Zu dieser Zeit war er bereits mit einigen namhaften Vertretern der Parnassiens befreundet. Spätestens als Alphonse Lemerre ihn zur Mitarbeit an der später berühmt gewordenen Anthologie Le Parnasse contemporain aufforderte, war er einer von diesen. Reliure propre, coins et chapiteau légèrement frottés, pages propres, sauf ex-libris à l'intérieur de la reliure sans inscriptions, pages en général, surtout premières pages également plus fortement tachées par l'âge, dernier feuillet avec bords abîmés, corps de livre ferme, coupé Vieilli, Paul-Armand Silvestre (* 18 avril 1837 à Paris 19 février 1901 à Toulouse) était un écrivain et critique littéraire français. Silvestre a étudié à l'École polytechnique avec l'intention de faire plus tard une carrière dans l'armée. Il put terminer ses études en 1859, mais sa carrière d'officier ne fut pas remplie. En 1870, il obtint un emploi au ministère des Finances et y réussit si bien qu'il fut reçu dans la Légion d'honneur en 1896. La même année, Silvestre est nommé "Inspecteur des Beaux-Arts". A cette époque, il était déjà ami avec des représentants bien connus des Parnassiens.
