Mueller was educated at the University of Vienna (Dipl, History,) William Jewell College (B.A. English,) and received his M.A. in International Law & Relations from The George Washington University. - After Peace Corps service in India, he distinguished himself as a poet, artist, and performer in New Orleans and San Francisco. In his 15-year role as Executive Director and Chairman of The National Poetry Association in San Francisco, Mueller presented thousands of national and international poets, artists, dancers & musicians in weekly events and annual large-scale festivals. In 1994, he was named one the best cultural organizers in the Bay Area. - He taught literary history at the University of California/Berkeley and lectured at Innsbruck University, American University, the University of Texas/Austin, and elsewhere.
