Buch. Condizione: Neu. Neuware - Book Description:TBDAbout the Author:Many enlightened and learned beings, by their teachings as well as by example, have unequivocally taught that the human mind possesses the potential to obtain states of mind that span from the manifestation of universal altristic compassion to the mental condi…tion that is capable of commiting the most horrific acts of violence imaginable. What this means is that all things that are said and all things that are done arise from somewhere withn the infinate continuum of what we call consciousness. Inspired by the universal teachings of these prophetic and venerable teachers, such as Buddha, Jesus, Mohammed, and countless others, I have made it one of my goals to try and stay mindful of the thought to wish the very best for every insect, animal, human and extraterrestial. Regardless of what is said or done. Despite whatever emotional state I may be in at a particular moment in relativity.I work as a respiratory therapist who worked the 'front lines' during the height of the covid pandemic. I can say first hand that if Trump would have alerted us(the citizens of the United States of America), him knowing how bad covid was in Febuary, we could have been better prepared for the crisis. Because of the Republican Trump's negligent decision not to prepare or support us during this time of crisis, him lying and leading us to believe the virus was a HOAX many of my co -workers contracted the disease. We could have protected our selves had we known earlier! Not to mention the thousands of other American citizens that were exposed and died because of his negligence. Republican Trump's covid response was 10,000 times worse than Benghazi. Why is there no incessant ranting from Fox News and Republicans about this. Like they did about Benghazi. I wish every insect, animal, human and extraterrestial the very best. For what it is worth I am aware that republicans belong to at least one of those categories and I wish them all the best. I believe it is a tough world to navigate through. On the personal level, I have had many successes and 'learning experiences' over the coarse of my time here. In my pursuit for knowledge, self understanding and self acceptance I have climbed many what seemed to be mountians at the time and have traversed many sundry valleys of unknown consequence(including marriage). From my many adventures, based on the knowledge I have aquired through acedemics, personal experience and especially from the everyday struggles that we gracefully or ungracefully wallow through during this 'school of life' I now consider myself to be one of those pseudo-intellects who think they know alittle about a lot. For those who are interested my autobiography will go into much more detail about what I mean by that. I believe the words and content in this book will bring to light pieces of my background and clarify some of the cryptic generalizations that I have alluded to in this brief literary self portrait. On the political front I am an independent. Although I find virtually no credence to the Repub's agenda. One example, abortion- I do not feel one bit bad for the unborn. They will not have to struggle or suffer or watch others suffer in this world. They are in God's warm hands right now! Why do repubs think that abortion is a bad thing Why is it so important to them that others be born into this world of struggle. If you truely believe in God you know that HE will make sure that a soul will be born if that is what HE truely wants. It is good to try and influence a mother's decision. But FORCING a person to have a child is not God's will. It is a defilement against God. God gave us a choice.

Buch. Condizione: Neu. Neuware - It's 1982, and Dee Ann Bulluck has enjoyed three peaceful years as a young wife, mother, and technical college instructor since moving to a backyard apartment in small-town Narrow Creek, North Carolina. Then her landlord Floyd Powell dies while sitting in his recliner on a calm Saturday morning.…Turns out, his death is due to something more sinister than his diet of honey buns and Pepsi Colas, and the major suspect is Miss Josie, his wife of thirty-five years.Convinced of Miss Josie's innocence-and by the fact that if her landlady goes to jail, she and husband Joe will likely lose their sweet deal of an apartment-Dee Ann agrees to help Miss Josie prove her innocence. Their bumbling investigation manages to reveal Floyd's involvement in some unsavory enterprises, including bootlegging. The reappearance of Miss Josie's long-lost beau and the meddling of her overbearing, big-city daughter complicate their amateur sleuthing. Her landlord may be dead, but Dee Ann is busy with life: Monday night choir practice at the Methodist church, house-hunting with Joe, and controlling mischievous three-year-old Heather. She barely has time to hide in Miss Josie's closet to eavesdrop or creep through the woods looking for a still. Will Miss Josie wind up in the big house while Dee Ann ends up with no house Like its heroine Dee Ann Bulluck, Life and Death in Narrow Creek is smart and sassy, witty and insightful. Readers will discover a cozy mystery warmed by the culture yet complicated by the social issues of the early 1980s in a small Southern town.

Buch. Condizione: Neu. Neuware - I have witnessed the slow crawl of history, from the joy of one decade to the agony of the next, from the fear of one decade to the fantasy of the next; I have seen the ashes of what once mattered and shared the dream of what might be.This book is based on my experience of the past 80 years, from… just before WWII to the present. As an advocate for conscious aging and a creative writer, I am fascinated with how we remember and story our lives, often to our own disadvantage. Now, in these later years, I've set about the transformative task of unraveling my own fragmented journey - a constant struggle for survival, through the re-invention of one self after another. This is how I faced the painful truth that if I could not own all my experiences, especially those in my shadow, I could not begin to forgive or love myself enough to even dream of becoming a whole person. The 71 stand alone (yet integrated) short stories in this book are drawn from more than 20 years writing, from meaning-making autobiography to revelations of conscious aging; from embracing the wisdom of vulnerability to learning to think with both the head and the heart.

Buch. Condizione: Neu. Neuware - Approximately 7.7 million American adults suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Those who suffer often refuse to seek help for fear of being labeled with PTSD by society. Quite often, they become isolated from family and friends, and may fear being ostracized by co-workers. Such acti…ons frequently lead to mental well-being challenges in one's personal life, as well as in their professional work environment.Rock Painting Therapy: A Soldier's Journey to Improved Mental Health is both a military memoir and a suggested self-help therapy option for PTSD symptoms, such as anxiety, restlessness, flashbacks, nightmares, and social adaptability issues. Here, Robert P. Chappell, Jr., a veteran of U.S. military combat, offers readers an insider's real-life view of an individual who transformed from an Army Reservist to a combat active-duty soldier, navigating the challenges of assimilating back into peacetime and civilian life. Chappell offers a positive cognitive approach to mental wellness through rock painting by sharing strategies in selecting and designing rocks, varying ways to hide the artwork for the enjoyment of others, and the excitement in finding artistical treasures created by others in the rock art community.Among other things, Rock Painting Therapy: A Soldier's Journey to Improved Mental Health explains:¿ how rock painting can provide a therapeutic outlet for stress;¿ the benefits of imprinting positive cognitive experiences over negative past memories;¿ the techniques of selecting the perfect rocks, gathering the proper rock painting supplies, how to preserve the paint on rocks, where to hide rocks and safe rock adventures; and¿ the adventures of rock hiding and social media clubs.

Buch. Condizione: Neu. Neuware - What We Remember is the story of some memories as Raleigh made the transformation from a quiet capital city to a significant cultural and governmental center. The beginning of the story is from the perspective of a native son who made his first public appearance as the 'Red Feather Boy' marking t…he success of fund raising for Community Chest through his career as a member of the city council, mayor, and businessman.Smedes York and his family were at the center of the transformation of the city in those vibrant days after the end of World War II when returning soldiers were seeking homes for their families, and businesses were looking for new locations. In response to those demands for housing as well as shopping and business, Smedes's father James Wesley 'Willie' York and his father Charles Vance York left evidence of their building and development skills throughout the city and the state.Raleigh: What We Remember attempts to broaden the scope to view the growth and changes in the city as seen from the perspective of Smedes and others who have experienced this transformation.

Buch. Condizione: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Men have largely lost their way in modern society. Our culture still prepares boys for manhood that is primarily based on the traditional roles of Hunter/Provider and Warrior/Protector from the Old World. These belief systems and behavior… expectations-commonly known as 'toxic masculinity'-once effectively protected our communities but are now creating significant problems of their own.'Toxic masculinity' teaches boys to 'Man Up' to be 'strong and independent.' However, this requires that males neglect the basic human needs of themselves and other community members-causing chronic illness, addiction, mental health issues, and violence. The range of negative impacts for both Self and Community as a direct result of these expectations and belief systems is staggering and growing by the day.It does not have to be like this! The problems facing men in modern society are extensive, but the keys to overcoming these obstacles lies within our genetic programming as social beings. All human beings are biologically designed to heal ourselves, to heal each other, and to meet our potential for personal growth in the safety of supportive relationships. The problem lies with the outdated expectations of traditional manhood, which have not yet caught up with the health and wellness needs of men and women alike in modern society. This book addresses solutions borrowed from research studies across a multidisciplinary approach-from Psychology, Anthropology, Religion and Philosophy-to show how a meaningful community-based lifestyle has always been the answer when it comes to health and wellness. Men must reintegrate this natural balance back into our Humanity to fulfill our sacred obligation as Providers, Protectors and Guardians-servant leaders-of an emerging Global Community. 214 pp. Englisch.

This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -'Muzio was a case apart: you cannot classify her, for in the end you have been so emotionally destroyed by her performance, you did not even know anymore what kind of instrument she had'. So spoke Lucrezia Bori, the beloved soprano of the… Metropolitan Opera. Bori was echoing the opinion of many of Claudia Muzio's contemporaries and successors such as Eva Turner, Rosa Ponselle, and Mafalda Favero who wrote:'Actually,' she [Favero] admitted with her total candor, 'it took me a long time to find my own interpretation [La traviata], for I was haunted by Claudia Muzio in this role. When she sang it at the Colö in Buenos Aires in 1933, I went to each rehearsal, worshiping her, and it took a superhuman effort for me to finally obtain my personal approach. . I recall a performance of Muzio's in Refice's Cecilia, an opera she created in Rome in 1934 which deals with the saint's martyrdom. She was so sublime in it that I went backstage to express my admiration at the end and impulsively dropped to my knees. 'Now, really, my child!' she said with those sad eyes which haunted me. 'What are you doing ' Her Norma was also an unforgettable creation. She had the quality I consider so essential in an artist: to make the public suffer along with her.'Sometimes we hear artists described as 'She was born a hundred years too late', but Claudia Muzio was born too soon. She was a great 'singing actress' whose stage portrayals produced the hysterical kinds of responses cited above. Most reviews mention her stage work first, not failing to praise her singing. It is from her late recordings from 1934-35, when she was ill, that she is remembered today. Muzio had a distinctive vocal timbre, and an unparalleled command of dynamics and phrasing that, once heard, is never forgotten. Indeed, she was called 'La Unica' in South America where she was the Teatro Colón's brightest star for fifteen years. Muzio made her debut as the first Italian Tosca at the Metropolitan Opera in 1916 at the age of 26 with Enrico Caruso and Antonio Scotti. She went on to sing with all the great artists of her time in a world-wide career of over twenty-five-years. Claudia Muzio sang over a thousand performances of major dramatic operatic repertory, including 131 Aidas, 146 Traviatas, 81 Trovatores, and 129 Toscas. This figure does not include concerts and by all accounts, Claudia Muzio was also a great recitalist. 196 pp. Englisch.
