Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. 28 pp. Deutsch.…

168 pp. Deutsch.…

Most part of microbial interactions are still unexplored. Herein we use an age old tool, Winogradsky column to enrich, simulate the microbes as they are and predict microcosm biofilm patterns. We have worked on many simulation parameters to better the Winogradsky column in every way. We describe methods to bring the interactions of the microbes in biofilms at a mathematical level. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Seminar paper from the year 2011 in the subject Forestry / Forestry Economics, Aligarh Muslim University (Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, India; Department of Economics), language: English, abstract: Forest is an important renewable resource and play vital role in the economic development of a developing country like India since the existence of human civilizations. They are rich sources of energy, housing, firewood, timber and fodder and they provide employment to a large section of the rural population. They also plays critical role in maintaining the ecological balance. The present consumption level and supply of forest products reveals that there is shortage of supply of forest products in comparison to its demand for various purposes except for wrapping, packaging paper and paper board and it is also expected to increase in near future because of rising population and growing economy which will make the realization of goal of sustainable development more difficult. Since we can neither stop the growth of population nor we can restrict the development of our country, there is only one option i.e. increasing the forest cover area and the density of existing forests. For this purpose we will find out those states in which there is shortfall of forest cover against the standard forest area. The result of the study reveals that the states like Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalya, Mizoram, Assam, Nagaland and Tripura are in comfortable position and there is no need to over emphasis on the management of forest in these states. But for the states like Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan Tamil Nadu,Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal etc. the forest cover area is not comfortable and there is need to manage the forest and adopt the policy of aforestation especially in wasteland 20 pp. Englisch. …

This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Seminar paper from the year 2007 in the subject Sociology - Economy and Industry, grade: 7 Punkte, Maastricht University, language: English, abstract: Nowadays, one can often hear people complaining about the extensive surveillance they are under. There is a lot of talking going on concering the use or abuse of surveillance. It seems like there is a general fear of a surveillance society but without general understanding or definition of the term as well as its consequences. In order to clarify the impact of surveillance on our society, the paper will start with the definition of 'our time'. What does it mean to live in a modern and globalized world In this respect, a discussion of the often used concepts of 'globalization' and 'modernity' is necessary and unavoidable in order to ensure a common basis for further discussion. The essay will continue with the question whether surveillance is something new to society or if it had been there all the time but developed in accordance to society. When discussing surveillance in a sociological way, one cannot ignore Foucault. Therefore, the paper will examine how Foucault dealt with surveillance, where he saw its merrits and shortcomings. After having established this, the essay will discuss how surveillance is used today as well as the reasons behind it. 16 pp. Englisch.…

In this project, I will treat the Aggravated murder topic based on three main canons applied throughout Albanian areas as: Canon of Leke Dukagjini-North, Canon of Skenderbeu-Mid and Canon of Laberia-South of Albanian populated areas. The vast importance to treat Aggravated murders based on Canon stands that often is rumored that 'it is reacted based on Canon' but the truth is different. Often people for their benefits, often financial benefit, often called upon respecting the moral, manhood of their family and relatives, and respecting the rules of the Canon, they have misused the norms-rules of the Canon and adopt it to their needs. The Canons have harshly condemned the murder. As the institution for the blood revenge against the perpetrator, his family and relatives existed, at the same time was established the institute for forgiveness as a solid ground for Murder prevention and as a solution to stop the revenge that could last forever and for generations.I believe that this modest seminar will be beneficial to those dealing with different legal, social and other fields of the studies. 20 pp. Englisch.…

This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Essay from the year 2011 in the subject Tourism - Miscellaneous, grade: Merit, Bournemouth University, language: English, abstract: There are different impacts that the development of tourism has on a destination, for instance, natural or environmental, economical, political or socio-cultural. The environment is one ofthe most important issues for the development and promotion of a tourist destination, and alsothe most fragile (Franco and Garcia, 1999).Due to the huge influx of tourists known as 'mass tourism', the impacts of the developmentcan be positive and negative. Positive economic impacts are the improvement of infrastructureand the attraction of more investment in the area; negative the increase of prices and ofincome inequality. Positive socio-cultural impacts enhance the increase of cultural exchangeand restoration of buildings; negative socio-cultural like immigration and assumption of thestereotypes of tourist; and finally, negative environmental impacts like noise, pollution, destruction of the natural environment, huge buildings in natural areas, overuse of water, problems with the treatment of wastes, water pollution by liquid waste, destruction ofhistorical monuments, air pollution from the use of vehicles and heating, changes in thelandscape to promote activities entertainment and sports such as golf; etc. But not only masstourism affects on the environment, alternative tourism can also make an unsustainable use ofresources (Garcia and Sancho, 1999).This essay will examine critically the natural impacts that the development of tourism hasupon the destination Lanzarote. This Spanish island is famous for its unique volcaniclandscape and its biosphere reserve. The island of Lanzarote is within the 10 most popularislands of Europe (Trivago, 2009) and personally one of my favourite travel destinations dueto family reasons. (1606 words) 16 pp. Englisch.…

Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Essay from the year 2011 in the subject Sociology - Classics and Theoretical Directions, grade: Distinction, London School of Economics, language: English, abstract: Durkheim followed one central question during his writings, namely the search for the 'bonds which unite men one with another' (Durkheim, 1888: 257). Especially Durkheim's early works are concerned in this respect with the forms of 'solidarité' that are specific for pre-industrial or lower societies in contrast to the ongoing industrialised or organised kind of community. In the 'Division of Labour', Durkheim arrives at a rather pessimistic account of modern, industrial society: although under 'normal circumstances' the division of labour leads to a harmonious society bound together by solidarity, our current form of industrial organisation is in an 'appaling crisis' (ibd.: 339) composed of 'organs that still clash discordantly together' (ibd.: 340). It is this account Durkheim gives of solidarity in the modern society that can be criticised substantially. The following essay will therefore consist of an analysis of his line of thought that leads him from early societies bound together by what he calls 'mechanical solidarity' based on similarities, to the notion of 'organic solidarity' in the 'contractual society'. Especially his optimistic, evolutionary account of the development of solidarity, his use of empirical data and finally his idealised notion of society are possible points of doubt as will be shown. The concluding remarks will lift Durkheim's analysis from the early 20th Century to a contemporary account trying to extend it with Foucault's 'penal society'. 16 pp. Englisch.…

This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Seminar paper from the year 2011 in the subject Musicology - Miscellaneous, grade: 1, University of Rochester, Eastman School of Music, language: English, abstract: To precede my comparison of Schumann's 'Mondnacht' and Brahms's setting of the same poem I would like to begin with a brief introduction of the two composers. Their personal histories will be taken into account in order to show if any conclusions can be drawn on how their approaches to the compositions may have been influenced. I will also concentrate particularly on both composers' roles in the context of the Lied of the 19th century. Within this context I will provide a short introduction to the poem Mondnacht and address its various different settings. In this approach will be considered both musical, as well as textual content. By the end of the paper I hope to provide a clearer understanding of how each of them composed their work and illuminate several differences and similarities. In order to not translate each quote taken from German sources and due to my German background I will be using the original quotes. 20 pp. Englisch.…

This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Seminar paper from the year 2004 in the subject Ethnology / Cultural Anthropology, grade: 1,3, Martin Luther University (Institut für Ethnologie), course: Indische Diaspora, language: English, abstract: 'Sikhs, Hindus and Muslims can share their love of Urdu and take part in the same musha'ira, ghazal and qawwali sessions, forgetting their differences for the space of the evening.' The great metapher 'space of an evening' can be completed with the image of a short-time covering umbrella. Both refer to the scope and limits of unification through cultural activity. The gaps between the cited groups emigrated like their guards from India, though they temporarily lost their meaning with the first small numbers. But later the gaps were reconstructed as reaction on the necessary subordination beneath the ber parts of bigger groups. Here they found new ground in stabilized circumstances and established connections to some kind of homeland.ghazal serves as marker of differences, because of its paradoxical existence on boundaries. It bridges gaps, it reverses them through shared emotions and shared interests, but it also opens new ones. The flexibility of the genre attracts most different audiences, but their understanding of the 'true' or the 'best' ghazal may bly diverge. The mystical interpretation respectively the poetic tradition just relate to the same essence of form, language and theme, for instance. Therefore there is a wide field open to share the same term without sharing the same content. To explore this field can give an idea of the range of differences in a specific cultural activity. Their divergence from differences in the environment may be an indication of some 'reversal power'.My utilization of 'culture' and 'cultural activity' has to be clarified. Both is meant in a narrow sense of art production and art reception. The performance of sound is naturally temporary, just as its possibility to maintain a group, that only exists for its reception. The implications of a art form give an idea of the implications of the reception. Therefore it reflects the conditions of the group, that shares a performance. At the same time dislocated performances of mechanical reproduction have other conditions of time than concerts and poetry assemblies. Consumers of cassettes, compact discs etc. are dislocated connected without necessarily direct contact. Consumers as audience in a room are necessarily in direct contact without the possibility of dislocation. ghazal exists successfully in both forms, it reflects the conditions of the diaspora of an art form and its recipients to a high degree. My considerations are limited on South Asians in North America. The results of the ternary DTAC/CR/W system were analysed in comparison with the reported results of binary DTAC/W system. The critical aggregation concentration (cac) and degree of ionization of the micelles were determined from the conductivity measurements at different temperatures. Thermodynamic parameters for the micellar system were estimated by applying the charged pseudo-phase separation model. Micellisation was found to be spontaneous and entropy-driven. 16 pp. Englisch. …

Introduction2. Kibbutz2.1. What is a kibbutz 2.2. The kibbutz culture today3. European thinkers3.1. John Locke3.2. Jean-Jacques Rousseau3.3. Karl Marx4. EvaluationBeing brought up in the Western hemisphere after the fall of the communist bloc, private property seems to be a concept so essential and decisive for our everyday life that questioning its existence is hard to imagine. Already as a child one develops a sense of what is 'mine' and what is 'yours'. Trivial as it may be it starts with toys or stuffed animals. An infant's understanding and perception of the world can elevate the fact of owning a certain object to the center of interest - as everybody with brothers or sisters knows. An answer to the question why we allegedly legitimately claim things to be our property could be found in that fact that fully mature and reasoning beings behave in a similar manner. Exchange toys and stuffed animals for vehicles, jewelry, houses or the overall equivalent, money, and you will find adults as ambitiously working or fiercely fighting to get or defend their property as children. Individuals face constant unsatisfied needs and the necessity to posses more and more propagated by commercialized mass media. Western societies have developed an 'entrainment-mentality' as former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder put it. The unquenchable thirst for growth and the gluttony of the elites could lead one to the assumption that the excessive accumulation of property has perverted the very nature of humanity itself. Or is this picture of a purely materialistically driven society a worn out cliché from anti-capitalistic theories Aren't we rather experiencing a time in which we return to values beyond matter, not at last triggered by the financial and economic crises The question I would like to elaborate upon in this essay is whether societies need private property, whether the very functioning of human coexistence is dependent on it. Or could private property be merely a mode of thinking common in our latitudes and not an inevitable human trace that is found in every culture such as laughing, language or time To illustrate this question I will refer to the kibbutz culture in Israel as an example of micro societies entirely abdicating private property, hierarchy and to a more limited extend privacy and individuality. 20 pp. Englisch.…

This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Essay from the year 2011 in the subject Sociology - Gender Studies, grade: Distinction, London School of Economics, language: English, abstract: Baudrillard was not concerned as much about pornography and particularly not about cybersex, as he was about the more general concepts of 'hyperreality' and the 'obscene'. But nevertheless, it seems that his ideas might be relevant in today's 'mediated' forms of sexual pleasure. This paper therefore tries to apply his theory towards the notion of cybersex. Two questions seem of highest importance: Is cybersex 'real' What is it that actually takes place in cybersex The first question can be framed with Baudrillard's notion of 'hyperreality' and 'virtual', whereas the 'obscene' is most fruitful in describing the content of cybersex. In the following, this essay will in the first paragraph deal predominantly with the definition of cybersex before the second and third part will introduce Baudrillard's ideas and critically apply them towards the question of the 'realness of cybersex' as well as the 'content' of it. Before the conclusion will try to give the analysis a wider perspective, a section of general critique will follow the development of the argument and reflect on the applicability of Baudrillard towards cybersex. First, however, it is necessary to come to a common understanding of the notion of cybersex. 16 pp. Englisch.…
