Brown boards with gilt lettering on the spine look to have sustained some water damage, particularly at the rear board. Result being some fading of colours and leaching of board colour on top dust wrapper and through to rear pastedown, also some texture changes. Lightly rubbed and discoloured at board edges. Head and tail of spine lightly bumped. Pastedowns, free endpapers, title pages are evenly, lightly discoloured, with some light foxing. Previous owner's inscription on front free endpaper. Binding is tidy and neat. Edges of pages are lightly discoloured and foxed, moreso at the fore edge. Rear edge of pages sustain water marks, else this book is in fair condition. Dust wrapper bears discolouration and thumbing. Rubbed, some creasing and general wear and tear. Edges are chipped (see image) and bear the odd tear. As mentioned above some water may have caused some leaching of board colour onto dust wrapper, along side foxing, as a result we will describe this dust wrapper as being in poor condition. *We always describe the faults of our books meticulously but they usually present better than they sound.
