Aggiungi al carrelloPaperback. Condizione: Very Good. Inspired by dioramas of wild flora and fauna found in natural history museums, Jim Naughtens digital reimaginations of a familiar yet alien world, explore the idea of wildlife becoming a lost fantasy. From orangutans swinging through psychedelic forests, to deer roaming pastel-hued canyonsNaughtens depictions of nature in an artificial color palette convey a distinct sense of dislocation and growing estrangement. His fantastical tableaus question our rose tinted image of the natural world that is largely fictional. In fact we are entering the Eremozoica term coined by biologist and writer E. O. Wilson to describe the current era of mass extinction triggered by human activity. Also referred to as The Age of Loneliness, the term alludes to the isolation that will follow the destruction of our deeply rooted relationships with other species. The book has been read, but is in excellent condition. Pages are intact and not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine remains undamaged.

Aggiungi al carrelloPaperback. Condizione: Fine. No Going Back Skin in the Game follows on from the acclaimed fieldwork diary, The Metabolic Museum. In this new book written in a conversational style, Clementine Deliss expands on how artists today understand the creativity to be found in historical research collections. Questions are raised on how to work with contentious collections, the law from the perspective of Indigenous artists, and the concept of the prototype that defines an artists career. Deliss speaks with leading women artistsRuth Buchanan, Otobong Nkanga, Collier Schorr, Rosemarie Trockel, Joelle Tuerlincx, and Andrea Zittel, about their moment of skin in the game, when they knew there was no going back, and that art practice would become their Hades and paradise in one. What was the prototype that defined their practice and that like a revenant returns over the course of an artists lifetime?.

Aggiungi al carrelloPaperback. Condizione: Very Good. London-based artist Lothar Gotz (*1963 in Gunzburg, Germany) creates murals based on geometrical source materials, with an emphasis on architectural references and concepts of space. The starting points for his works are buildings, empty spaces, and architectural sites, to which he responds with keen intuition. Beginning with the given conditions of a space, he sees both the historical contexts and the modern, functionally determined concept of architecture as a formal challenge. Unique spatial characteristics and architectural constructions are recorded, while their geometrical principles are reinforced by means of intense coloration. Gotzs drawings are an important resource for his murals. Even though they are independent works, many of them are still used as preliminary sketches for later spatial elaborations. The book has been read, but is in excellent condition. Pages are intact and not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine remains undamaged.
