Stockton's." This is Richard Stockton (1764-1828), the son of Richard Stockton (1730-1781), signer of the Declaration of Independence for New Jersey. Both father and son were lawyers; the Richard Stockton who owned this book was also a state senator and U.S. congressman. The very scarce third volume of Brown's Praxis Almae Curiae Cancellariae. In Fair+ Condition: front board and front free endpaper are detached but present; leather is rubbed and scraped; slight loss of leather at tail of spine; corners heavily rubbed; back joint is cracked but solid; paper is consistently browned but clean and tight.…
