This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -To address the problem of vehicular pollution in the Kathmandu Valley, the Government of Nepal responded with mainly command and control (CAC) measures such as emissions standards for new and in-use vehicles, banning of new two-str…oke motorcycles, and lead phaseout from petrol. Since literature suggested that compared to CAC instruments, economic instruments are cost-effective, this study set out to examine whether fuel tax is indeed preferable. Quantitative analysis was carried out to evaluate the cost- effectiveness of policy measures. Toxicity weightage factors were assigned to the criteria pollutants to derive a composite index of toxic load' inventory while the prevailing costs were used for calculation. The findings of the research were mixed. While banning of new two-stroke motorcycles was found to be most cost-effective, setting of emissions standards for diesel vehicles was least cost-effective. The cost-effectiveness of a fuel tax was calculated for different tax regimes and found to fall in between. It suggested that both categories of instruments should be implemented to achieve the objective with least cost to society. 120 pp. Englisch.

From the sample respondents, the researcher has found that although the causes of brain drain in Ethiopia are multifaceted, the major one are poor remuneration system and political inconvenience. Here soft start method is implemented to start the motor safely without any external starter. In this controller the set point can be changed during run time. So, it is not required to off the controller to set new set point speed. This increases the flexibility of the controller. For this,200 day old Cobb-10…0 broiler chicks were randomly divided into four treatment groups, viz.Stresroak,Supermune,Immuved and Control groups;each group consisting of two replications and each having 25 chicks. The birds were fed ad libitum B1 ration up to 4 weeks of age and B2 ration afterwards. Medication was done via drinking water as per their recommended dose. Vaccination was done to all the groups with F1 on day 7,IBD intermediate on day 13 and day 19 and ND Lasota on day 26 through intraocular route.Daily feed intake and weekly body weight gain was recorded.Serum samples were collected from five birds (20%) from each replication for HA and HI test. HA and HI tests were performed at Central Veterinary Laboratory, Tripureshwor to assess the antibody titre against ND. The result revealed that Immuved is better than other drugs used in trial in all aspects, i.e. HI titre level, FCR, mortality pattern and economic advantage. 68 pp. Englisch.
