Industrial production of ferroalloys is associated with the type of applied reducing agent and they are obtained by a carbon-reducing, silicothermal and aluminothermic process. One of the most cost-effective ways to produce refractory materials is the self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) method. Energy-saving and environmentally friendly technology SHS, a relatively new method. It was developed on the basis of the phenomenon of solid flame processes discovered in 1967, in which the initial, final and intermediate substances are in the combustion wave in the solid phase.
