The area lies along an ancient road through the Makaza Pass connecting the Aegean to the interior of the Balkans. The cultural strata are considered sequentially - Medieval (late 10th - early 13th c.) and Late Antiquity (4th - early 6th c.). The Medieval layer contains ritual pits, the only ones known so far on the territory of Medieval Bulgaria. Their interpretation has been sought in folklore texts from Bulgaria, the Balkans and other ancient socially related communities.The main focus is on the pottery. Along with the shapes and technologies known from other sites on the Balkans, two groups of vessels are specially discussed. The first group coming from the Late Antiquity bears some features of the Late Iron Age tradition. The vessels of the second group contain talc in the clay they are made of. This element is a novelty in production defined so far and is known only from the Rhodopes.

Institutional based cross-sectional quantitative study was used to assess KAP and associated factors towards VBD among Assosa University graduating class students, from April 27 to May 11 2018 GC. From the total study participants, 162(48.5%) had adequate knowledge towards blood donation and 230(68.9%) of the respondent had favorable attitude towards blood donation whereas 104(31.1%) unfavorable attitude. Among the total participant of graduating class students, only around one quarter, 85 (25.4%) have ever donated blood in their life time.

A total of 200 fish samples including Tilapia nilotica and Mugil cephalus, (100 of each) were randomly collected from various shops and supermarkets.The collected samples were examined mycologically. Tilapia nilotica and Mugil cephalus samples showed average mould counts of 3.82×102 ± 2.41× 10 CFU/g and 1.85×102 ± 4.33× 10 CFU/g,respectively.Seven and five species were isolated from Tilapia nilotica and Mugil cephalus,respectively. The extreme prevalent fungal species isolated from the examined samples was Aspergillus flavus. The study declared that total aflatoxins levels of Tilapia nilotica and Mugil cephalus showed average of 1.67 ± 0.26 ppb and 2.78 ± 0.39 ppb,respectively. On the other hand,natamycin showed significant antifungal properties in a concentration- dependent manner. For instances, natamycin 2.5g/L significantly reduced total mould count (77.09%).

Nyamagabe district) in Southwestern Rwanda can improve food productivity by applying sustainable agriculture principles. The farmers themselves have, through a quest…ionnaire-based survey, assessed their productivity as low. Their assessment is supported by a literature review. The causes and reasons behind the situation are analysed and discussed, as are the effects. The study reveals that demographic pressure, deforestation, soil erosion and land degradation are important factors contributing to the problem. These factors are interlinked and strengthen each other. The analysis from the study suggests that conventional agriculture or industrial agriculture may not solve the problem of regional food insecurity or mitigate environmental degradation. However, sustainable agriculture could improve simultaneously agricultural productivity, food security and mitigate environmental degradation, but it requires new sustainable technologies, proper planning and strategies, food conservation, transportation (roads) as well as investments in agriculture production and education. 52 pp. Englisch.

From a nominal perspective, there is quite a steady growth. Also government's investment in the sector has been skewed towards recurrent expenditure such as salaries, subsidies and administrative costs thus leaving a gap in the core business of agriculture. Gender focus of national budgetary allocation has also been poor with little or no special attention to the needs of women.
