In this book, we test this hypothesis for Ghana and the Western Europeans countries with UK been… a proxy, using time series data to determine whether or not it holds. We determine how fast or slow this convergence process is by using the returns to scale concept on Ghana's economy and latter account for factor that determines economic growth in sectors. The book supported the null hypothesis of convergence i.e. Ghana is catching up with the Western European. The book also shown that Ghana growth accounting exhibit decreasing returns meaning convergence is relatively slow and also signifies that Ghana is not on a balanced growth path. The book showed a negative relationship between GDP and labour both in the long run and short run relationship. Again the book showed a positive relationship between GDP and capital, Agric and Industrial sector. Lastly, the study showed a negative relationship between GDP and AID and Service in the long run.

Several different features were extracted and evaluated using the DBI and the best of…these, the joint time- frequency (JTF) feature, was chosen for detecting onset and classifying mental tasks. For onset detection, two different methods were employed and compared on the basis of classification performance obtained from confusion matrices, repeatability and ease of application. Different classifiers were tested for onset detection of which Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA) classifier showed better results. The classified onset using JTF features and LDA classifier was then used to select the active period data in both sessions, which was then sent to the mental task classifier. Mental Task classification was done using Neural Networks, Support Vector Machines and LDA. The performance of the mental task classifier was also evaluated using confusion matrices. A virtual hand was developed graphically in MATLAB and was programmed to move in 6 different directions according to the classified outputs. 104 pp. Englisch.

Therefore, natural frequency of structure becomes nonlinear and it may increase structural response or induce resonance. We use the Esscher transform and the Black Scholes formula for the option pricing. The calibration of the distribution parameters a…fects the calculated prices of the European call options. The basic idea is to use a point estimation and its standard errors and then test combinations when the standard errors are added or subtracted to the point estimates. The study is applied to two indexes of the OMX Nordic Market, the OMXS30 and OMXC20. Our results on these indexes show that the parameter which in uences the option price mostly is the peakeness of the NIG distribution. The skewness parameter has the least in uence on the pricing. The option prices based on the NIG and Esscher transform are also compared with the pricing by using Black-Scholes formula and the market prices. The results show that for the OMXS30 index the NIG assumption and the Esscher transform provide calculated prices which are closer to the market prices that the Black-Scholes prices. She captured the sampling uncertainty by using the bootstrap technique, and quantified the sampling uncertainty by introducing fuzzy numbers. In the book, the author applied the model selection system to a variety of real-world databases with respect to binary classifications. Among the tested datasets, the method performs in line with the traditional ROC analysis, whereas it provides the fuzzy presentation of ROC curves based on which not only the predictive accuracy but also the degree of sampling uncertainty can be addressed.
