One compound had been isolated, which was identified by extensive… analyses of resolution NMR spectral data. The powdered leaf of T. grandiflora was extracted separately with methanol. The solid extract was then subjected to vacuum liquid chromatography (VLC). Repeated chromatographic separation and purification the leaves of Thunbergia grandiflora afforded one flavonoid named 5 hydroxy-4 ,6,7- trimethoxy flavone, C18H16O6. The Methanolic crude extract of Thunbergia grandiflora showed moderate analgesic activity. Out of all the samples only chloroform fraction methanolic crude extract were appeared mild potent in terms of both zone of inhibition & spectrum of activity against some gram positive, gram negative bacteria and fungi. In antidiarrhoeal test and brine shrimp lethality bioassay , hexane, carbon tetrachloride, chloroform and aqueous fractions exhibited insignificant activities whereas Carbon tetra chloride fraction showed some hypoglycemic effect at a dose of 300 mg/kg body weight compared to control group. 112 pp. Englisch.

This paper utilized one of these modifications, which was proposed by Brouhns, et.al. (2002). The number of deaths, a count random variable, is said to be well-suited to the Poisson distribution. Thus, this makes the Poisson log-bilinear regression model appropriate in modeling and forecasting mortality. This book aims to be able to fit the Poisson log-bilinear model to the number of deaths for some northern European countries. A maximum likelihood estimation technique is used to estimate the parameters of the model with the aid of LEM program and SAS. A chi-squared goodness of fit test was performed to test significance and usability of model. Lastly, the deviance residuals for the estimated number of deaths were taken. 116 pp. Englisch.

The study was carried out in pilot scale. The parameters are indicators to evaluate water quality according to the objective of reuse system.During the analysis, it was tested that re-use in pre-soakiing and main soaking stages using 100% of effluent from deliming discharge, reuse in bating and washing1 100% and bating washing2 75% from bating washing3 and on the reuse in tanning, 80% washing after shaving was possible. 100 pp. Englisch.

A qualitative study with a semistructured design has been used. The result of this study is divided in five different categories. The interviews show that the Nurses in this study at Mpongwe Mission Hospital are working hard to prevent HIV among women. They have come a long way in their prevention work although there is much left to do. The wide spread of knowledge among the nurses and the lack of staff is a big obstacle. Because of the shortage of finances the hospital can't afford to send nurses for further education or hire enough staff to be able to give the right care and to reach out to the population. 60 pp. Englisch.

Recent study shows that more analog blocks are being integrated onto single silicon CMOS Chip. The power amplifier becomes the final… block in the transmit path and has to amplify the signal to required power level. Power amplifiers are extensively used in cell phones, base stations, cordless phones, WLAN etc. Class-C has become more useful where efficiency is a prime concern. A differential topology method is presented to design Power Amplifier (PA) for GSM applications. The differential topology suppresses the even higher harmonics at the output. The CMOS Class-C PA is suitable for applications which use constant-envelope modulation scheme where information is contained in phase e.g. BPSK and GMSK. This is an advantage for Class-C PA despite non-linearity of the output signal. The balun implemented in this design is not only used to link the differential PA to the single-ended load but also works as a output matching network. In this work the transistor size i.e. W/L Ratio , L and C values are set in order to maximize the Power Added Efficiency (PAE). 72 pp. Englisch.

Biodiesel is replacing diesel as an alternative fuel for internal combustion engines. In this study biodiesel blend B20 and ULSD (B0) were combusted to investigate how the engine conditions influence the emission concentrations of H2, CO, CH4, CO2, N2 and morphological data of particulate matter. From our results under varied tested conditions we have incurred that, for low H2 emissions, B20 combustion under low temperatures and high pressures is preferred. For low CO emissions, B20 combustion under high temperatures and pressures is preferred. For low N2 emissions, ULSD combustion under low temperatures and high pressures is preferred. For low CH4 emissions, ULSD combustion under low temperatures and high pressures is preferred.
