Physical and mechanical properties of the composites prepared from treated coir were found better than those of untreated ones. The tensile strength, tensile modulus, flexural strength, flexural modulus, and hardness of the chemically treated coir fiber reinforced composites were higher than those of the raw ones. Treated coir-PP composites were found to absorb less amount of water than the untreated ones. To understand why the mechanical properties of composites prepared under different conditions of coir were different, surface morphologies of the tensile fractured surfaces of the specimens were recorded using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The SEM images clearly revealed that there were fewer fiber agglomerations, micro-voids, and fiber pull out traces for treated coir-PP composite than in the untreated one, indicating that better distribution of the fiber into the matrix as well as stronger fiber matrix interfacial adhesion occurred upon treatment of coir. 64 pp. Englisch.

Fungal infections (48.8%) were the most common manifestations, followed by bacterial infections (26.4%). High prevalence of vitiligo (5.6%); Eczema, seborrheic dermatitis and urticaria (16.8, 2.4 and 0.8%, respectively) were unusual features. Design efficiency and performance of the proposed method are illustrated by simulations and comparisons to other design methods. Survey was carried out on creditors, 35 each from Sirjana Bikas Kendra (SBK), Agricultural Development Bank Ltd (ADBL), and Sewar Dairy Cooperative (Sewar). About 74% were found taking loan for bovines,10.5% for pig, 7.6% for goat and 7.6% for poultry. About 83%,37% and 63% creditors from SBK, ADBL and Sewar were found using credit rightly. No creditors from SBK, 17.1% each from ADBL and Sewar were found misusing credit. Credit showed positive effect on housing structure. No. of creditors living in thatched mud house were reduced to 22.9% from 28.5% in SBK and 5.7% from 8.6% in Sewar. Tin cemented house owner in ADBL was increased to 62.9% from 60%. Average income of creditors from SBK, ADBL and Sewar was increased by 84%, 62% and 51% after using the credit. Saving was increased by 47%, 41% and 28% in SBK ADBL and Sewar. I estimate the firms' implied Cost of Capital for the year 2005 using the Target Price model implemented by Botosan and Plumlee (2005), and the Price Earnings Growth model (PEG-model) implemented by Easton(2005). My results support the research hypothesis and the conclusion that firms from countries with, stronger securities regulation, stronger investors' protection, higher corporate tax rate and higher effective tax rate have a significantly lower cost of capital. However, the security regulation variable was not significantly, but negatively related to the Cost of Capital when I included the control variables of firms' Size and the book-to-market value ratio into the estimation model.
