The study established the effect of teacher management, politics and role performance of school management bodies on the…quality of education. The study found that teacher management and school management bodies' role performance significantly affected the quality of education while politics did not. The study concluded that teacher management led to poor education service through; lack of adequate staffing, teacher training, development and motivation and performance management systems. Role performance of school management bodies led to poor education through failure to; enact enabling bi-laws, mobilize resources, develop strategic and operational plans, monitor performance and take corrective action. The study recommended that the district, lower local authorities, school management committees, politicians and other stakeholders to work together to address these challenges in all schools for improved quality of education. The study suggested identification of effective strategies for education decentralisation.

I argue that a relatively minor character, Erichtho, the necromancer in book 6, is not o…nly the hero, but also the supreme uates and, moreover, an avatar of the poet. The reader cannot help but compare the witch to not only Scaeva in book 6, but also to Vergil's Aeneas. When Erichtho interacts with Sextus Pompeius at the end of book 6, she dominates and manipulates Magnus' deplorable son masterfully. Through these interactions, it becomes clear that, in fact, Erichtho resembles the figure of the epic hero more than any other character. In addition, she creates a corpse uates through her vatic powers and gains access into the Underworld deeper than conventional oracles. Once her various important roles in the BC are understood, her infernal powers can be seen to permeate the whole of the epic as she becomes the poem's central figure.

In the majority of cases, operating costs, costs related to maintenance and technical support are not properly budgeted for. Our study assesses cost components of a computer network within a tertiary educational institution in the context of developing countries. It uses a newly developed financial tool, the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) to measure costs involved in the acquisition, use and maintenance of any ICT equipment. It focuses on 7 cost-components: (i) hardware acquisition, (ii) software acquisition, (iii) retrofitting the old buildings, (iv) technical support and operations, (v) administration and professional development, (vi) end-users operations and (vii) downtime. The study provides useful guidelines to managers in higher learning institutions that can help them control costs relative to each of the seven cost categories. 108 pp. Englisch.
