O-Hardcover with Jacket "Crowley wrote Alexandra some time during the years 1905 or 1906, presumably for the amusement of himself and a small circle of friends." The first page proof was printed in Oct. 1906 (by Philippe Renouard), a corrected version was produced…in Dec. 1906 and on this one the present edition is based (the copy was supplied by John Symonds). Probably the book was not printed before 1909. "For reasons uncertain, Crowley later chose to disregard the book completely [.] The blanket of silence that Crowley thus cast over Alexandra has subsequently led to much confusion concerning the nature and history of the book."
