Yorke gave Idle's The Rutland Dirty Weekend Book (1976) a glowing review in his "Number One with a Bullet" c…olumn in the December 18, 1976 issue of RPM Weekly. From the library of revered English actor, comedian, musician, and writer Eric Idle, accompanied by a letter of provenance. Idle (b.1943) is a founding member of the British comedy troupe Monty Python, as well as the parody rock group The Rutles, and is the writer of the music and lyrics for the hit Broadway musical Spamalot. Among the first biographies of the revered English rock band. According to a tweet by Idle, Led Zeppelin contributed £31,500 to financing Monty Python anf the Holy Grail (1975), and both Robert Plant and Jimmy Page attended the film's premiere. Octavo: 192 pp. with numerous textual photographs. Original printed paper wrappers. Some general toning and minor wear along the extremities; otherwise very good.

Dust jacket is in fine condition with mylar cover. Hinges and binding are all tight and sound. Beautiful appearance on any bookshelf. A sound and attractive copy. McFarlane describes his early years as a journalist, through his years with the Stratemeyer Syndicate, and beyond. Surprisingly uncommon, in 1926, when 23 yr. old cub Reporter answered an AD for a fiction Writer, he had no Inkling of bizarre writing Career that Lay ahead.
