It began with Hermann Vogel's discovery of the spectroscopic binary stars, Spörer's discovery of the Maunder Minimum of solar activity and Hartmann's clever argumentation on the existence of interstellar gas. Schwarzschild wrote from the war front to Einstein that gravitational waves should exist and Grotrian revealed the secret of the red corona line; later the dynamo theory of the origin of cosmic magnetic fields will migrate worldwide from here.But the Great Refractor turned out to be too large, the hastily erected Einstein Tower also failed to achieve the desired success, Ludendorff drove its multi-talented master mind Freundlich away, and the tower was even planned to be completely removed. Walter Grotrian was not able to start work with his new coronograph, and all the candidates for his succession later declined. The reorganization of the Akademie der Wissenschaften zu Berlin into a socialistic state combine led to isolation and the suppression of the innovation pressure; dubious figures began to torpedo the research through invisible channels.

In the interdisciplinary tradition of Black Feminism, the contributors explore the…redefinition and evolution of Black women and place. Researchers, activists, and academics present diverse perspectives on the strategies through which Black and Afro-descendant women confront racism and sexism in their communities. The chapters also examine the knowledge and pathways generated by Black and Afro-descendant women in both historical and contemporary contexts.The book is organized in three sections. Historical Trajectories situates the experiences of Black women in the legacies of the past that continue to shape present-day activism. Harrington is an Assistant Professor of Black Studies at the University of Illinois Chicago, USA. She has published in Latin American and Caribbean Ethnic Studies, Kalfou: A Journal of Comparative Ethnic Studies, Race & Class, and Revista Relicário Uberlândia. A seasoned educator on gender, race, labor, activism, and Black communities in Latin America, she teaches courses on Black diaspora, global Black feminisms, and the politics of Blackness in Latin America. She is currently completing her first book, Inscribed and Erased: Domestic Workers Rights in Brazil.Dr. Angie Edell Campos Lazo is a Lecturer of Social Work at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, Perú and an Afro-Peruvian activist. Her dissertation, Black Bodies in Professional Workspaces: Professionalization of Afro-Peruvian Women in the City of Lima, examines contemporary racism through the educational and professional experiences of Afro-Peruvian women. Her research centers Afro-Peruvian human rights, Afro-descendant women s activism, and youth political participation. These concepts indicate the unconditioned condition and the empirical-formal universe that truth unilaterally conditions, respectively. Indeed, truth condition…s the empirical-formal universe without being conditioned by it. It is argued that the reduction of truth to various theories explaining its empirical use has led to the unconditioned nature of truth itself being lost. But if truth is not grasped for its absolute value, it is reduced to relation.The book aims to show that the concept of relation if understood as a static construct of two terms and a nexus is a contradictory construct, since it reconciles the irreconcilable: dependence and independences of the related terms. Thus, only insofar as truth is absolute is it authentic truth, because it does not depend on anything else, but is autonomous and self-sufficient. Indeed, if truth were not absolute, it would be determined and, as such, would be defined by a limit that would place it in relation to something other than itself, i.e. non-truth. But this is contradictory as it would make truth reliant on what is not truth. Instead, no determination can ground itself: the circle of referring that requires the determination to refer beyond itself cannot be the ground, because it configures nothing other than an infinite regress.In conclusion, the book shows that truth has to be understood not only as the end of a quest, but also as its condition, since it is only in virtue of absolute truth that the inadequacy and therefore the unintelligibility of all that is finite or relative are recognised.Truth and Relation is essential reading for all scholars, researchers and advanced students of philosophy and, in particular, of metaphysics and epistemology. 98 pp. Englisch.

For that reason, Swedish authorities were initially unaware of their suffering; however, as the losses of men increased and awareness of their plight grew, it became a huge concern for Sweden s long-distance trade, particularly the import of salt essential for food preservation in the long winter months from Southern Europe.By studying the Swedish experience of encountering Barbary, the book illustrates how a small Lutheran state navigated global interests. This volume studies letters from captured and enslaved Swedish sailors and how this correspondence played a pivotal role in shaping slave narratives and by extension Swedish identity. The book also examines these letters social impact on local communities at home, the political pressure they exerted on government officials, and their cultural significance among intellectuals. In addition, the study highlights how Swedish consuls became integrated into the local power elite in North Africa, which facilitated diplomatic negotiations and opened up opportunities for commerce, including participation in the transport and trade of African slaves. 364 pp. Englisch.
