Soft cover. Condizione: Very Good. 1st Edition. xiv+152+[4 ad] pages with tables, appendices and index. Quarto (10 1/2" x 7 1/2") bound in original publisher's wrappers. Papers of the Peabody Museum of American Archaeology and Ethnology, Volume XLI, number 2. First edition. The author of this source seeks to determine the factors which are responsible for the conversion of individual Navajo to one or another religious sect. This source treats principally the activities of the Mormons, who are settled among the Navajos at Rimrock, and a less conspicuous but also influential sect which he designates 'Galilean.' Through the analysis of survey-sample results and of life-history materials, his interpretation of Navajo conversion experience rests largely upon psychological rather than sociological foundations. Condition: Previous owner's name on front wrapper, corners bumped, rubbed and creased, spine ends rubbed else very good.

Soft cover. Condizione: Very Good. 103 pages in Spanish with frontispiece map, plates, figures, plans and references. Folio ( 13 3/4" x 11") bound in original publisher's wrappers. Foreword by Alfred M Tozzer. Memoirs of the Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology Volume IX, Number 1. Reprint in Spanish of the first edition. This paper by the author is the result of years o interest in this particular field. It ia an attempt to place certain cultural facts in the archaeological history of Honduras. It is, further an attempt to link some of the aborigines with archaeological remains from certain sections of the country: namely, the people who dwelt in the present departments of colon, parts of Olancho, Atlanitida, Yoro, Cortes, parts of Comaygua and parts of Santa Barbara. From this wide territory, the writer believes it is possible to obtain an idea of the people responsible for the archaeological types. In addition, certain digressions into the present republics of El Salvador and Nicaragua when the historical or archaeological facts present the opportunity or raise the necessity to connect them with Honduras. It has been pointed out that the ethnological boundaries do not coincide in some cases with the present national boundaries. Condition: Corners bumped and rubbed else very good.

Libro Prima edizione
Soft cover. Condizione: Very Good. 1st Edition. 123 pages with charts, tables and bibliography. Royal octavo (9 3/4" x 6 1/4") in original publisher's wrappers. Assisted by Hermann K Bleibtreu. Papers of the Peabody Museum of American Archaeology and Ethnology, volume LVII, number 2, First edition. Hutterites are an ethnoreligious group that is a communal branch of Anabaptists who, like the Amish and Mennonites, trace their roots to the Radical Reformation of the 16th century. The founder of the Hutterites, Jakob Hutter, "established the Hutterite colonies on the basis of the Schleitheim Confession, a classic Anabaptist statement of faith", with the first communes being formed in 1528. Since the death of their eponym Jakob Hutter in 1536, the beliefs of the Hutterites, especially living in a community of goods and absolute pacifism, have resulted in hundreds of years of diaspora in many countries.[2] They embarked on a series of migrations through central and eastern Europe. Nearly extinct by the 18th and 19th centuries, the Hutterites found a new home in North America. Over 130 years, their population recovered from 400 to around 45,000. Today, most Hutterites live in Western Canada and the upper Great Plains of the United States. Condition: Some staple holes in front wrapper else a very good copy.

Soft cover. Condizione: Very Good. 1st Edition. x+44+[4 publication list] pages with tables, appendix and cited references. Quarto (10 3/4" x 7 3/4") bound in original publisher's wrappers. Foreword by Clyde Kluckhohn. Papers of the Peabody Museum of American Archaeology and Ethnology, Harvard University, Volume XLII, Number 2. Reports of the Ramah project Number 6. First edition. Kaplan's monograph represents a unique contribution both to the cross-cultural study of personality and to that of values. For the latter subject the contribution is largely that of highly significant data. Members of the Values Project research team must carefully examine these materials as they bear upon the internalization of cultural values. They must give special attention to the wide variation in personality that Kaplan discovered in each of the four cultures. Condition: Edge wear, corners bumped else very good.

Papers of the Peabody Museum of American Archaeology and Ethnology volume 42, number 3. Reports of the Rimrock Project Values Series, number 5. First edition. The This study of one area of Navaho values was undertaken as an experiment in method. Unlike most such data, the field notes used here had been carefully classified, filed and cross-referenced under headings prepared by Clyde Kluckhohn. The operations used to select and organize the relevant file data were not essentially different from those which might be used for a similar study performed by a field worker on his own data.
