Letzten Endes ist dies der wohl entscheidendste Zweck, der von der Leitung einer Unternehmung anzustreben ist. In diesem Sinne hat es eine strategische Ausrichtung der Unternehmungsführung immer gegeben. Ihr Stel lenwert ist aber in den letzten zehn Jahren auf Grund der neu entstandenen wirtschaftlichen und gesellschaftlichen Rahmenbedingungen gewaltig angeho ben worden. Diese waren auch in der Vorkriegszeit keineswegs unveränder lich, sondern wurden durch immer wieder eintretende Konjunkturschwan kungen bestimmt. Die Natur und der Aufbau der dieses Geschehen steuern den Kräfte wandelten sich hingegen nur langsam. Die Tätigkeit der Unterneh mung konnte unter diesen Verhältnissen auf Kontrollmittel aufbauen, die auf vom Rechnungswesen gelieferte Vergangenheitszahlen gründeten.
