Paperback. Condizione: new. Paperback. My analysis is focused on the visual and sexual politics of the media coverage and public response to the military sex scandal commonly referred to as Abu Ghraib within a neoliberal context. The purpose of this project is to address a gap in current academic scholarship regarding the sexual and visual politics of neoliberalism. With an emphasis on the role of the state in the regulation and policing of public discourses of sexuality, I apply an analysis of the production and consumption of sex scandals in the United States to interrogate the relationship between sexual and visual politics of neoliberalism. Specifically, I analyze the ways in which desire, taboo and fantasy are policed in media coverage and public reaction to the Abu Ghraib military sex scandal in an effort to understand how sex scandals function in a public culture of sex. My research is guided by an interest in public culture of sex that is produced by discourses of sexuality that create knowledge of sex, especially the ways in which it is policed by neoliberal politics. Paperback. Condizione: new. Paperback. In late January of 2012, I was twenty-nine years old and just beginning my first on campus college experience. While I had transferred into this private, fouryear institution as a junior, I had previously only attended courses online or on military bases for the past ten years. I had attended a handful of community college courses before joining the military, courses I could barely recall the subject of if it were not for the help of my college transcripts. I was excited for college. I was excited to be leaving the military. I purposefully wore sweatpants and tie-dyed arm warmers most of the first month of classes - simply because I could. I was less excited for some of the classes I was being asked to take, in particular, an arts course that was taught with a feminist theory framework. This item is printed on demand. Paperback. Condizione: new. Paperback. This book is an exploration of the Final Girl trope and the overall treatment of women in John Carpenter's 1978 smash-hit slasher film Halloween, its sequel, Halloween II (1981), and David Gordon Green's newest Halloween trilogy (2018-2022). I argue that the treatment of women in the first two films of the Halloween franchise are bogged down by Susan Faludi's concept of the backlash against American women in the late 1970s and throughout the 1980s, and that the Final Girl trope strips Halloween's Laurie Strode of her femininity, replacing it with masculinity despite the trope's gendered name. David Gordon Green's Halloween trilogy, on the other hand, released from 2018 through 2022, is punctuated by the MeToo movement in Hollywood and actively reverses the anti-women hatred seen in the first two films of the franchise, restoring Laurie Strode's femininity through her role as a caretaker, mother, and guardian of her daughter and granddaughter. The history of the Final Girl trope, the slasher film in the United States, anti-women sentiments throughout the 1980s Reagan era, and the MeToo movements are explored in detail, This item is printed on demand. This study explored the potential effects of artificial intelligence (AI) on young adults between the ages of 18 and 25, examining both the positive and negative impact of their use of cutting-edge technologies. The study examined the dynamic interaction between changing technology environments and this demographic's communication patterns, focusing on the urgent need for an updated communication paradigm. The research established the foundation for comprehending and tackling the revolutionary influence of AI on conventional communication frameworks by exploring the historical origins of communication models, namely Berlo's SMCR communication model This item is printed on demand. Paperback. Condizione: new. Paperback. The purpose of this study was to explore leader perception of leadership characteristics during times of chaotic change, like COVID-19. To explore this, I asked "What are leaders' perceptions of effective leadership characteristics in times of chaotic change?" This study was grounded in the constructs of Narcissistic Leadership, ServantLeadership, and used Q-Sort methodology. Participants were asked to sort 44 servant and Narcissistic Leadership characteristics from most effective to least, within the context of the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic. Results were analyzed and a three-factor solution emerged. This study showed that not only do leaders perceive both Servant and Narcissistic Leadership characteristics to be effective during times of chaotic change, but also that there are different styles of leadership that can be effective in the context of chaotic change events like the COVID-19 pandemic.
