Ewes were injected with intramuscular injection of 500 IU of PMSG when sponges were removed at 14 days. This study revealed that breed had significantly effect on twining rate and lamb mortality rate in spontaneous ewes. Breed also had a significant effect on the rate of lambing, lamb mortality, abortion and dystocia in synchronized ewes. In addition, parity had a significant effect on the rate of lambing, lamb mortality and dystocia in spontaneous ewes. Furthermore, parity also had significantly effect on the rate of lambing, lamb mortality, dystocia and barrenness in synchronized ewes. Different ram to ewe ratio during estrus period had a significant effect on conception rate and barrenness rate in synchronized ewes. 60 pp. Englisch.

The present study aims to explore the production of…antibacterial agents from rhizosphere soil bacteria of 11 medicinal plants and determine their activity against Gram-negative (Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli) and Gram-positive (Bacillus cereus, Staphylococcus aureus) bacteria. Soil samples were collected and used to isolate antibiotic producing bacteria (APB). Those isolates (108) were first tested using Cross-streak method against test bacteria. Then, isolates that showed a positive antibacterial effect (12) were tested by antibiotic susceptibility test (AST) of their cell free supernatant (CFS) and their extracellular and intracellular secondary metabolites extraction which gave positive results. Staphylococcus aureus found to be the most sensitive test bacteria with inhibitory zones ranging from 13.5 - 19 mm. 112 pp. Englisch.

A significant increase in methicillin-resistant S. aureus in hospitals. However, regional differences in the epidemiological factors of MRSA appear to be significant. Rapid and reliable detection of MRSA is essential in order to secure the optimal treatment of patients with Staphylococcal infections, as well as for infection control procedures. In the present study S. aureus clinical isolates were collected from four hospitals. All confirmed S. aureus isolates were processed for antimicrobial susceptibility testing, performed by the modified Kirby-Bauer technique. The positive predictive values of the tests performed for the defining MRSA on MIC was higher than disc diffusion. It was concluded that oxacillin resistance on MIC was the more reliable than disc diffusion for defining MRSA isolates. 152 pp. Englisch.

Ewes were injected with intramuscular injection of 500 IU of PMSG when sponges were removed at 14 days. This study revealed that breed had significantly effect on twining rate and lamb mortality rate in spontaneous ewes. Breed also had a significant effect on the rate of lambing, lamb mortality, abortion and dystocia in synchronized ewes. In addition, parity had a significant effect on the rate of lambing, lamb mortality and dystocia in spontaneous ewes. Furthermore, parity also had significantly effect on the rate of lambing, lamb mortality, dystocia and barrenness in synchronized ewes.
