Transition from feudalism to imperialism A.D. 1751 to 1816 represents an exercise based on a comprehensive as well as realistic approach to the study. It discusses the relation between the central authority represented by the Nawab of Arcot and feudal interests represented by the Poligars and Zaminders. Adequate attention is bestowed to trace the origin of Nayankara system Poligars and their over lords feudal orders of the Poligars and their British intervention in the administration. In 1816 the British destroyed the feudal authority and brought the country under unified system. This transition was of considerable significance to the political social and economic life of the people of the Tamil Country.
