Two vols. 8vo. 48; 48 pp. With text illustrations throughout, some colour-tinted, diagrams. Colour-illustrated lithograph softcovers on textured paper, cover art of young women and their Singer sewing machines (minor shelfwear, rubbing, slight soiling back cover of vol. II), still a VG set. Revised edition of these well-written sewing instruction booklets by the Singer Sewing Machine Co., designed for use with the Singer Home sewing Course schools. Singer developed the Sewing Centers to aid in a revival of sewing which had declined during the late 1920s and 1930s with the explosive growth of ready-to-wear clothing during the Roaring 20s. The first booklet offers numerous tips on using the assorted accessories for the Singer sewing machine, while the second incorporates patterns and sewing instructions.
