As the increasing popularity o…f social networking is undeniable, scalability is an important issue for any OSN that wants to serve a large number of users. Storing user data for the entire network on a single server can quickly lead to a bottleneck, and, consequently, more servers are needed to expand storage capacity and lower data request traffic per server. Adding more servers is just one step to address scalability. The next step is to determine how best to store the data across multiple servers. This problem has been widely-studied in the literature of distributed and database systems. OSNs, however, represent a different class of data systems. When a user spends time on a social network, the data mostly requested is her own and that of her friends; e.g., in Facebook or Twitter, these data are the status updates posted by herself as well as that posted by the friends. This so-called social locality should be taken into account when determining the server locations to store these data, so that when a user issues a read request, all its relevant data can be returned quickly and efficiently. Social locality is not a design factor in traditional storage systems where data requests are always processed independently. Even for today's OSNs, social locality is not yet considered in their data partition schemes. These schemes rely on distributed hash tables (DHT), using consistent hashing to assign the users' data to the servers. The random nature of DHT leads to weak social locality which has been shown to result in poor performance under heavy request loads. Data Storage for Social Networks: A Socially Aware Approach is aimed at reviewing the current literature of data storage for online social networks and discussing new methods that take into account social awareness in designing efficient data storage. 56 pp. Englisch.

Research is cited to show that such instinctive survival behavior involves several prototypical behavioral categories relevant to all organisms from amoeba to man. Freud, Darwin, Gould, and the major historical figures of the God/no God debate are included throughout, and the point is made that environmental conditions can produce biological effects and this is the essence of the proposed epigenetical context of the debate. Therefore, this volume concerns itself with exploring the question of whether there is a God-gene or whether God is discovered epigentically in a psycho/evolutionary context. In writing these books we have naturally been concerned with the level of preparation of the potential reader, and, roughly speaking, we suppose him to be familiar with the approximate equivalent of a one-semester course in each of the following areas: linear algebra, general topology, complex analysis, and measure theory. Experience has taught us, however, that such a sequence of courses inevitably fails to treat certain topics that are important in the study of functional analysis and operator theory. For example, tensor products are frequently not discussed in a first course in linear algebra. Likewise for the topics of convergence of nets and the Baire category theorem in a course in topology, and the connections between measure and topology in a course in measure theory. For this reason we have chosen to devote the first ten chapters of this volume (entitled Part I) to topics of a preliminary nature. The purpose of a theory is to categorise and explain existing practice, thus enabling it to be improved through the development of new and sharper techniques. This dialectical relationship between theory and practice is essential to a healthy programming technology. The lack of such a relationship in the 1950s and 60s and the accompanying software crisis certainly confirm the converse of this proposition. My aim in writing this book has been to explain the current state of the theory of structured programming, so that it may be used to improve the reader's practice. The book deals with two facets of programming - how to design a program in terms of abstract data structures and how to represent the data structures on real and bounded computers. Hall's (1904) two volume Adolescence encompasses most of them: to advocate a particular theoretical approach to adolescence, to stimulate use of a particular brand o…f scientific methodology when studying youth, to address issues of the basic nature and importance of adolescence, and to propose recommendations on how adolescents ought to be treated and educated. In Hall's words, 'It [the two volumes] constitutes the first attempt to bring together the various aspects of its vast and complex theme' (xix), a full survey of 'pedagogic matter and method. ' This is necessary because, 'In no psychic soil, too, does seed, bad as well as good, strike such deep root, grow so rankly, or bear fruit so quickly or so surely' (xviii-xix). Mead (1928) retorted with Coming of Age in Samoa, a refutation of Hall's conclusions: 'Are the disturbances which vex our adolescents due to the nature of adolescence itself or to the civilization Under different conditions does adolescence present a different picture' (p. II). Thus, Mead wanted to correct a theoretical injustice and to promote the impact that culture has on the developing adolescent personality. Hollingshead's (1949) Elmtown's Youth was produced to further support Mead's conclusions-'Is the social behavior of an adolescent a function of physiological changes in the maturing individual or of his experiences in society ' (p. 6). Several pathways for AsA biosynthesis and metabolism have been identified in plants since 1998. More attention has been paid to improving ascorbate content in plants especially in fruits and vegetables. Significant progresses have been made on key enzymes and genes involved in the AsA biosynthesis and metabolism. Recently, more interests have arised in the regulation of AsA biosynthesis, as it is constantly regulated by the plant development and the environmental factors, e.g. light.
