Neuware - Neither in English nor in French is there a published study of Napoleon Bonaparte's reestablishment in France of the Congregation of the Mis 1 sion, whose members are generally known in France as Lazarists. This study, Napoleon and the Lazarists, 1804-1809, examines the reestablish ment of the Congregation of the Mission in France and its subsequent relations with the Napoleonic Government. Because religion played an important role in the policies and plans of Napoleon, this study is set with in the framework of Napoleon's general religio-political policy. Since the Concordat of 1801 was the legal instrument by which the Catholic Church was reestablished in France and also a necessary preliminary to and a model for the reestablishment of the Lazarists, its negotiation is treated in detail. The examination of the reestablishment of the Congre gation of the Mission in France under Napoleon Bonaparte and its sub sequent history between 1804 and 1809 follows. It is a study in microcosm which reflects Napoleon's general religio-political policies. Who are the Lazarists The name Lazarist originates from St. Lazare, the original Motherhouse in Paris of the Congregation of the Mission of St. Vincent de Paul. St. Vincent de Paul founded the Congregation of the Mission in 1625. With the cooperation of St. Louise de Marillac, he also founded the Congregation of the Daughters of Charity.

As one whose own philosophic speculations began at. the end of a cultural epoch under methodologies dominated either by neo-Kantianism or schools of logical empiricism the symbol as a prod uct of a cultural imagination has been diminished; it has been neces sary for those who wanted to preserve the symbol to find appropriate philosophical methodologies to do so. In the following chapters we shall attempt to show, through a consideration of a series of recent interpretations of the symbol, as well as through constructive argu ment, that the symbol ought to be considered as a linguistic form in the sense that it constitutes a special language with its own rubrics and properties. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -This handbook is a sequel to an earlier volume entitled 'A Theory of Supercritical Wing Sections, with Computer Programs and Examples.' Since the completion of the first volume, which we shall refer to as Volume I (cf. [ll), some effort has been made to improve our airfoil design program. A number of more desirable air foils have been designed. In addition several of our wing sections have been tested in wind tunnels. We should like to make this material available here, since it is more convenient to use the design program in conjunction with data for a fairly broad range of examples. Moreover, we have developed new analysis programs that supersede our previous work. Chapter I is devoted to a brief discussion of the mathematics involved in our additions and modifications. There is only a mini mum emphasis on theory, since the representation of important physical phenomena such as boundary layer shock wave interaction and separation is partly empirical. It is our contention, however, that the computer programs provide a better simulation than might have been expected. Chapter II presents numerical results found by our new methods, as well as comparisons with experimental data.
