The subject being nearly limitless, only certain selected topics are discussed. These are outlined in the Introduction (Ch. 0). The remainder…of the book is divided into three parts. All results of economic significance are contained in Parts II & III. Part I introduces the main tools for the analysis, in particular the concept of an information structure. Although most of the material presented in Part I is not original, it is hoped that the detailed and self-contained exposition will help the reader to understand not only the following pages, but also the existing technical and variegated literature on markets with imperfect information. The mathematical prerequisites needed, but not explained in the text rarely go beyond elementary calculus and probability theory. Whenever more advanced concepts are used, I have made an effort to give an intuitive explanation as well, so that the argument can also be followed on a non-technical level (cf. e.g. the treatment of the 'generic' viewpoint in Ch. 9). In the same spirit, discussion of mathematical assumptions is limited to those which have economic sig- ficance, whereas purely 'technical' assumptions (like differentiability or integrability of certain functions) are usually made without comment whenever convenient. Unter interdisziplinaren Systernen werden hier Systerne verstanden, die aus Teilsystemen verschiedener Disziplinen aufgebaut sind; die Teilsysteme konnen z.B. elektrischer, transla tions- oder rotationsmechanischer, oder auch hydraulischer Art sein. Obschon die Ueberlegungen fur die Erarbeitung der Grundlagen vorlaufig auf die eben aufgezahlten Gebiete be schrankt wurden, sind Erweiterungen auf andere Gebiete ohne weiteres moglich. Eine der erwahnten Methoden ist die Darstellung von Syste men durch Bonddiagramme. Die Bonddiagrarnrne wurden von H.PAYNTER Anfang der GOer Jahre eingefuhrt. Es sind Dia gramme zur Darstellung von Energieflussen, gegebenenfalls auch des Austausches von Signalen, zwischen Systernelernenten und Systernteilen. Bonddiagrarnrne konnen damit als nutzliches Bindeglied zwischen Regelungstechnik und Energietechnik be nutzt werden. In didaktischer Hinsicht fordern Bonddiagramme die Einsicht in technische und physikalische Zusammenhange aufgrund der zur Beschreibung der Leistungsflusse verwende ten Leistungsvariablen, die nicht nur rein mathematische, sondern echt physikalische Bedeutung haben. Scbultz zuerst seine Schüler und dann seine langjährigen Mitarbeiter und haben dazu beigetragen, daß vor allem das Autogene Training praktiziert wurde und die Bedeutung erlangte, die es entsprechend seiner Wirkungsbreite verdient. Die aus der Praxis gesammelten Betrachtungen und Erfahrungen, z. T. über 20 Jahre hinaus, sollen nicht verlorengehen. Sie sollen kritisch gesichtet und anderen Ärzten zugänglich gemacht werden. Das ist die Absicht dieses Buches. Auf diese Weise soll auch ein Teil des Lebenswerkes von J. H. Schultz, das ihm besonders am Herzen lag, nämlich das Autogene Training, ganz in den Mittelpunkt dieser Schrift gestellt werden. Daß es dabei zu Überschneidungen und auch zu Wieder holungen in den gedanklichen Ausführungen kommt, ist nicht vermeidbar und kann nur die Wichtigkeit der ganzen Thematik unterstreichen helfen.
