Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. Neuware - 112 pages, 119 illustrations, size 5.5 x 8.5 inches. Compiled and updated from the Floyd Clymer book titled 'Handbook of Imported Carburetors & Fuel Injection', this publication is specific to the 45 DCOE, 40 DCOE, 26 IMB, 22 IM, 26 IM, 28 ICP, 28 ICI, 32 IMPE, 36 DCD and 28/36 DCD series of Weber carburetors. While there are certainly other books that deal with current Weber products, detailed information on these earlier carburetors is more difficult to find. Obviously, in addition to Alfa Romeo and Fiat automobiles, much of the information in this publication will be applicable to other vehicles that are equipped with similar Weber carburetion systems. Therefore, we believe this book is an important addition to any enthusiast's library and will help keep their Weber equipped automobiles in top operating condition. The book is split into two main sections, the first section deals with the 'Theory and Practice' of this series of Weber carburetors, the second section focuses on the installation, tune up and maintenance of Weber carburetors as fitted to the Alfa Romeo Giulia 1600 models, including the TI Super and Sprint GT Sedan, the 1600 Spider, Veloce and GT and the Fiat 500, 600, 1100, 1200 and 1500 Cabriolet. An illustrated list of special tools is also included.…

Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. Neuware - 206 pages, 348 black & white illustrations, size 8.25 x 11 inches (210 x 279 mm). While most books that have been written about the 1960's Liverpool groups tend to focus on the individual members and while this book is obviously the Notions story, it also includes details and information that their manager, Frank Delaney, had accumulated that was not totally exclusive to the Notions. Consequently, this publication will appeal not only to fans of the Notions but to any of the groups that appeared on the same bill as the Notions as well as anyone that is interested in the 'Liverpool Sound' phenomenon. What happened Named as the 'Cavern's choice for 1964' by its famous DJ and Compere, Bob Wooler, the Notions played the Cavern more than 100 times from 1963 through 1967. During that time they also had numerous recording sessions with a number of different radio stations, record companies and recording studios and even a Granada TV appearance in 1967. So why did the Notions not 'make it big' 1964 was also a time when record companies and music producers were zeroing in (and cashing in) on the 'Liverpool Sound' phenomenon. As such, the Notions repertoire and sound was different to the sound that had become associated with the Liverpool music scene. The Notions excelled at close vocal harmony and there was no other Merseyside group which they could be compared to. Certainly, there were other 'vocal harmony' bands such as the 'Excelles' and the 'Chants' but they were comprised of vocalists only and, as such, they required a separate musical backing group. However, the Notions, along with their close vocal harmony abilities, were also musicians and songwriters which allowed them to create a unique sound of their own.I am of the opinion that Bob Wooler (the DJ and compere of the Cavern) chose the Notions as the 'Cavern's choice for 1964' because of the fact that they had such a unique sound and were musically different from the hundreds of 'Liverpool Sound' groups that regularly played the Cavern. Bob had a knack of predicting the next great musical 'breakthrough' and, while I believe that he was 'right on target' with his Notions selection, I also believe that his timing was off. Had the Notions been the 'Cavern's Choice for 1974', at a time when vocal harmony bands like the 'Eagles' became popular, I think there is a good possibility that the Notions would have 'made it big'. Unfortunately, I believe that they were ten years ahead of the musical time curve, which may explain why they never found the success they so rightly deserved.…

Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. Neuware - 140 pages, 63 black & white illustrations, size 5.5 x 8.5 inches. Originally published under the title The Book of the Panther (H/WT) by W.C. Haycraft. This book is one of The Motorcyclist's Library series published in the USA by Floyd Clymer by arrangement with the original publishers, Pitman Ltd. of London, England. This re-print of the 1967 third edition includes repair, maintenance and overhaul information for the P&M 600 c.c. Model 100 and the 650 c.c. Model 120 Panther motorcycles manufactured from 1938 through the end of production in 1966. Unfortunately, manufacturing cut-backs had become the norm at P & M since the early 1960's and by 1968 P & M and Panther motorcycles were part of British motorcycle history. With the predominance of the contents devoted to the maintenance and overhaul of both mechanical and electrical components there is adequate detailed text and diagrams to assist in major refurbishing such as an engine rebuild or even a complete renovation.Out-of-print and unavailable for many years, this book is becoming increasingly more difficult to find on the secondary market and we are pleased to be able to offer this reproduction as a service to all Panther owners, restorers and enthusiasts worldwide.…

Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. Neuware - 156 pages, 96 black & white illustrations, size 5.5 x 8.5 inches. Originally published under the title The Book of the BSA, by F.J. Camm this book is one of The Motorcyclist's Library series published in the USA by Floyd Clymer by arrangement with the original publishers, Pitman Ltd. of London, England. This re-print of the 1935 seventh edition of the Motorcyclist Library 'Book of the BSA' was selected as being a significant edition as it includes repair, maintenance and overhaul information for the 1927 through 1935 'Sloper' engined models in addition to many of the BSA motorcycles that were in production as far back as 1914.Motorcycles that are specifically covered are the 1.49HP OHV X35-0, 2.49HP SV B35-1, 2.49HP OHV B35-2, 2.49HP OHV De Luxe B35-3, 3.48HP OHV De Luxe R35-4, 3.48HP OHV Blue Star R35-5, 4.99HP SV W35-6, 4.99HP OHV W35-7, 4.99HP OHV Blue Star W35-8, 4.99HP OHV Special W35-9, 5.95HP SV M35-10, 5.95HP OHV M35-11, 4.98HP OHV V- Twin J35-12, 9.86HP SV V-Twin G35-14. Also included are the following sidecar models: Special Sports 21-44, Medium Tourer 21-20, Large Tourer 21-40, Launch 21-42 & Heavy Tourer 6B-6 & 6C-6 plus the 6 different models of the BSA Three Wheeler. Specifications for the 1936 models are included in a separate supplement, however, there were major changes made to the line up in 1936 and these models are covered in much greater detail in the later editions of this same publication. Unfortunately, service and repair information for BSA motorcycles manufactured prior to 1936 is extremely limited and difficult to find. This is probably due to the fact that BSA never published anything that could be called a workshop manual for these early machines and only began to publish 'service sheets' coincident with the introduction of the B, C & M Series in 1933. However, these 'service sheets' only focused on singular tasks and they were never published for any of the pre 1933 models. The first edition of the Motorcyclists Library 'Book of the BSA' by the author 'Waysider' (F.J. Camm) was published in 1924 and subsequently revised and published through numerous editions. The first seven editions included data that was applicable to both the current year's models and the earlier machines. In addition, most of them also included supplements for the following year's models. Unfortunately, concurrent with the publication of the 1937 eighth edition (and the 1938 re-print of that same edition) a change of format eliminated information that was applicable to the earlier machines. Consequently, the 1st through 7th (1924 through 1935) editions of the 'Book of the BSA' are the editions that will be of the most use and interest to owners of the pre-1936 machines.…

Originally published under the title The Raleigh Handbook, by 'Mentor', this 1930 third edition is one of The Motorcyclist's Library series published in the USA by Floyd Clymer by arrangement with the original publishers, Pitman Ltd. of London, England.Obviously, while this re-print of the third edition is somewhat specific to the 1930 models, much of the information is also appropriate to Raleigh motorcycles manufactured from 1919 through 1933. As there is so little repair and maintenance data available for these motorcycles, the information included, while not of the detail or level of a technical manual, will be of assistance to any Raleigh motorcycle owner. Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. Neuware - 184 pages, 64 black & white illustrations, size 5.5 x 8.5 inches. Originally published by Lliffe & Sons of London UK in 1925, this is a faithful reproduction of the 8th impression 1962 Floyd Clymer U.S.A. Edition published under special arrangement with Lliffe. From its initial introduction in 1925 'Speed and How to Obtain It' subsequently progressed through a number of editions and impressions and ultimately became one of the best selling motorcycle 'tune up' books ever. The 'dated information' contained in this publication is considered valuable today by those enthusiasts interested in vintage motorcycle racing, tuning and modification. Consequently, this makes the 1962 8th impression the most complete and desirable edition of this book. While predominantly a technical work, it is written in terms easily understood by the layman. To paraphrase the author, 'This book is intended for the man whose technical knowledge is not on a par with his skills as a mechanic'. Obviously, the primary focus of this publication is on 1960's and prior British motorcycles. However, the reader is reminded that engineering theory and the laws of physics do not change and as such, much of the information is also applicable to the current crop of high revving imports. In addition, there is a comprehensive section on modifying the two-stroke engine for both street and competition work. 'Speed and How to Obtain It' is considered by many knowledgeable motorcycle enthusiasts to be one of the better books ever written on how to improve, modify and fine tune a vintage British motorcycle engine. Therefore, it is our pleasure to offer this reprint to vintage British motorcycle enthusiasts worldwide.…

Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. Neuware - 84 pages, 83 black & white illustrations, size 8.25 x 11 inches. Published in the USA under the same title in 1951 by Floyd Clymer, the original publication was a pocket sized landscape format book and it is often criticized as difficult to read due to its small print size. Consequently, this edition was re-formatted into a larger and more conventional portrait size which has increased the text size by almost 40%. This publication provides the reader with an insight into the country, and the manufacturers, that were ultimately destined to succumb to the dominance of the Japanese motorcycle industry. A total of 33 different British motorcycle manufacturers and their various models are included and sadly, less than a handful of those 33 manufacturers survive today. A 'must have' resource for any motorcycle enthusiast and an invaluable reference for anyone interested in British 'iron'. Many of the motorcycles featured within are highly collectible today and the predominance of these early manufacturers no longer exist. This truly historical documentation of the glory years of British motorcycle manufacturing has been out-of-print and unavailable for many years and is becoming increasingly more difficult to find on the secondary market. As J.A.P. engines were also used by a number of other motorcycle manufacturers, including Brough Superior, Montgomery, Federation, O.K. Supreme etc. and as they were also used to power small trucks, three-wheelers, lawn mowers etc. this book would also be of assistance to the owners of those motorcycles, vehicles and J.A.P. powered equipment. This publication has been out-of-print and unavailable for many years and is becoming increasingly more difficult to find on the secondary market. We are pleased to be able to offer this reproduction as a service to all J.A.P. powered vehicles, equipment, and motorcycle owners and enthusiasts worldwide.…

Obviously, this publication is a 'must have' addition to any cyclemotor enthusiasts library and remains the ultimate singular reference for a number of the more popular 1950's cyclemotors.Out-of-print and unavailable for many years, this book is becoming increasingly more difficult to find on the secondary market and we are pleased to be able to offer this reproduction as a service to all cyclemotor owners, restorers and enthusiasts worldwide.…

Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. Neuware - 148 pages, 97 illustrations, size 5.5 x 8.5 inches. Originally published under the title The Book of the BSA (Groups B, C and M) by W. C. Haycraft this book is one of The Motorcyclist's Library series published in the USA by Floyd Clymer by arrangement with the original publishers Pitman Ltd. of London, England. This re-print of the 15th edition includes complete technical data, service and maintenance information and detailed instructions for the repair and overhaul of the major mechanical and electrical components for the BSA 250cc, 350cc, 500cc and 600cc B31, B32, B33, B34, C10, C11, C11 De Luxe, M20, M21 and M33 single cylinder OHV & SV series of motorcycles from 1945 through 1959 with the exception of the 1954-59 C10L, C11G, C12, C15 and Gold Star models. There is adequate detailed text and diagrams to assist in major refurbishing such as an engine rebuild or even a complete renovation.A GUIDE TO THE VARIOUS 'BOOK OF THE BSA' EDITIONS FOR OWNERS OF POST WW2 SINGLES THROUGH 1970The 10th, 11th and 12th editions published after the end of WW2 were nothing more than a reprint of the 1936-1939 pre-war 9th edition, each one having and additional 50 page 'supplement' covering the post-war models. Due to the superficial nature of these supplements, they were inadequate in providing overhaul and repair information for owners of the post-war models. However, when the 13th edition was published, the entire publication focused on the post-war B, C and M models up to 1954 and the 1936-1939 pre-war section was eliminated. The 14th edition expanded on the years covered, as did the 15th edition which was the final edition to include the post-war C series models. Therefore, the VelocePress re-print of the 15th edition (ISBN 9781588502292) is of the most use to owners of the 1945 through 1959 post-war B, C and M singles. The 16th and 17th editions continued coverage of the later B and M models (only) and the last edition to cover the B and M series was the 17th edition published in 1968. Therefore, the VelocePress re-print of the 17th edition (ISBN 9781588501561) which covers the 1955 through 1967 models is of most use to owners of the later B and M series motorcycles. Finally, the 1954 and later C models received their own specific 1st edition beginning in 1963. This separate publication went through four different editions, each one expanding on the years covered. Obviously, the most appropriate edition for late model C series 250cc owners would be the VelocePress re-print (ISBN 9781588501585) of the 4th and final edition which covers the 1954 through 1970 models.…

Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. Neuware - In 1952, Floyd Clymer published the first in a two-part series of motorcycle road test books that had originally appeared in the UK magazine, Motor Cycle. Obviously, these road tests focused on UK manufactured machines and European models that had UK distributors. The initial 1952 publication was followed by a second in 1954 that, in addition to motorcycle road tests, also included scooter, three wheeler and cyclemotor tests. With 120 pages, profusely illustrated with 226 images plus specifications and performance information for each model, this publication combines both the 1952 and 1954 books into a single edition that includes 49 Motorcycle, 2 Scooter, 2 Three Wheeler and 7 Cyclemotor road tests. At the time of publication, these books generated little interest with US motorcycle enthusiasts as Harley Davidson and Indian were the most widely accepted forms of two-wheel transportation. US based distributors of UK machines were scarce and the imports from Japan were still a number of years in the future. However, many of the motorcycles tested are extremely collectible today and independent road tests such as these, which were conducted at the time when these models were first introduced, will be of interest to owners of those machines as they highlight the pros and cons of each model and provide a unique comparison to their competitors. The front cover of this book provides a detailed list of the machines featured in the individual road tests. However, the various manufacturers included are as follows. MOTORCYCLES: Ariel, Bown, B.S.A., D.M.W., Dot, Excelsior, Francis-Barnett, Greeves, Indian (Brave), James, Norman, Norton, Royal Enfield, Sunbeam, Tandon, Triumph, Velocette & Vincent. SCOOTERS: Vespa & Lambretta. 3 WHEELERS: Bond & Reliant. CYCLEMOTORS: Berini, Cucciolo, Mini-Motor, Velo-Solex, Cyclemaster, Power Pak & B.S.A. Winged Wheel.…
