Covering two years of his time in office, the author, known by the pseudonym Veritas, finds fault with every one of Provost's decisions. Veritas believes that Provost's inexperience, indecisiveness, and poor military strategy contributed to the war effort's failures. Many Canadians, however, subscribe to a very different view of Provost's leadership, celebrating him as a great and effective leader during a tumultuous time. This book provides ample evidence from both sides to allow the reader to come to their own conclusions about Provost's governorship.
