The author conducted a series of experiments to characterize the bacillus, examining its morphology, staining properties, thermal death point, and virulence. He observed unique pleomorphic forms, irregular staining patterns, and a low thermal death point. Animal experiments demonstrated that the bacillus could induce pleurisy, pericarditis, pneumonia, peritonitis, and abscess formation. Intravenous inoculation resulted in a generalized septicemia.
