The author, George Trevor, was a sportswriter for the New York Sun and his picks represent four different eras of the sport. These greats played from the 1880s to the 1920s, decades that saw football evolve from a game of speed and individual skill into a highly organized sport centered on strategy and teamwork. Trevor's selections highlight the changing nature of football and showcase some of its most accomplished players. Overall, this book is a tribute to Lehigh's rich football history and will appeal to fans of the sport and Lehigh alumni alike.
