Dam…(born August 10, 1932) served as Deputy Secretary of the Treasury (the second highest official in the United States Department of the Treasury) from 2001 to 2003, where he specialized in international economic development. He is currently a senior fellow of the Brookings Institution and a professor emeritus and senior lecturer at the University of Chicago Law School. Dam held a number of government positions while on leave from the University of Chicago including Program Assistant Director for national security and international affairs at the Office of Management and Budget (1971-1973). Dr. Herbert Lin is chief scientist (emeritus) at the Computer Science and Telecommunications Board, National Research Council of the National Academies, where he has been study director of major projects on public policy and information technology.
