Next came Album Cover Album 2 in 1982, telling the story of those fertile five years. In the next two years the record industry has moved on at an undreamt-of pace. As before, this selection of art is international, but we've chosen to focus on British work in this introduction, for the most dramatic development has been the new worldwide passion for British pop and rock. Unlike the climate of 1982, in 1984 British artists have at any one time occupied in excess of 35% of the U.S. charts the largest market for recorded music in the world.
