This is the Revised Second Edition (1965 text), later U.S. printings, housed in the original slipcase. Each volume retains its original white dust jacket featuring Tolkien's facsimile signature and the iconic Eye of Sauron/Ring design. Black cloth boards stamped in color (green, gold, and pink) with Tolkien motifs. Each volume contains its fold-out map at the rear (Mordor, Gondor, Rohan, etc.), all present, crisp, and intact. Decorative title pages and illustrations including "The Doors of Durin." Condition: Books Very Good ? tight bindings, clean interiors, minimal age toning. Dust jackets Good+ with some edge wear and light shelf rubbing, but unclipped and bright. Slipcase Good, showing some rubbing and wear at edges but fully intact and functional. A handsome vintage set, increasingly scarce complete with all maps, jackets, and slipcase.
