Rubin im Jahr 1994 in die Plastics Hall of Fame. Sein Buch bietet dem Praktiker unverändert umfassende Informationen: (1) es enthält detaillierte Tabellen zur Fehlerbehebung (Troubleshooting). Wenn Teile verbrannt sind, Verzug aufweisen oder Einfallstellen haben, liefert Rubin konkrete Einstellwerte (Druck, Temperatur, Zeit), um gegenzusteuern. (2) Maschinenverständnis: Rubin beschreibt die Hydraulik und Elektrik der Spritzgießmaschine so, dass Instandhalter und Einrichter verstehen, warum die Maschine auf bestimmte Befehle reagiert. - Für Formenbauer erklärt das Buch die physikalischen Abläufe im Nest (z. B. Entlüftung und Kühlung). Das hilft, Fehler bereits in der Konstruktionsphase zu vermeiden, statt sie später teuer an der Maschine korrigieren zu müssen. (3) Materialkunde: Es übersetzt die Chemie der Kunststoffe in Verarbeitungseigenschaften. Ein Praktiker erfährt genau, wie sich die Viskosität verschiedener Materialien unter Druck verändert.
