Its parameters are estimated using Markov chain Monte Carlo procedures, and the resulting posterior distributions of the parameter estimates yield insights into score stability that were previously unsuspected. Modern tests are often composed of a large number of testlets - smaller tests that focus on a narrow topic. Testlet response theory (TRT) is an appropriate scoring model for such tests.
