He also took part in counter-insurgency and peace-keeping activities in Kenya, Malaya, Oman, Cyprus and Northern Ireland and held staff appointments in the Ministry of Defence. He spent the final three years of his service as Commander in Chief of the United Kingdom Land Forces. The book has been read but remains in clean condition. All pages are intact and the cover is intact. Some minor wear to the spine.
