Alice Hamilton was a founding industrial toxicologist and is considered one of these most important figures in American environmental history. She was the first woman on the faculty at Harvard and her work led the establishment of the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration, better known as OSHA. She was also a mentor to Harriett Hardy who followed in her footsteps in industrial toxicology or workplace heath. Gray cloth boards with a lavender cloth spine. With the recipient Frazier's clear address label on the pastedown. Very near fine with only a faint speckle of foxing to upper text block face. In a very good jacket with wear and small nicks especially to corners and spine ends.
