Prima edizione Copia autografata
Hardcover. Oblong 12mo. Black cloth, pictorial dust jacket. xiii, (ca. 200pp). Extensive full-page illustrations. Near fine/very good. Quite mild bit of jacket edgewear. A superb first edition of this well-known editorial cartoon collection (subtitled "From Little Italy to the Pulitzer Prize" on the jacket front panel) by the Pulitzer Prize-winning (1969) syndicated political cartoonist (1916-80) who delighted "Chicago Daily News" readers for many years before switching to the "Chicago Tribune" in 1978. Handsomely inscribed and signed by the cartoonist in the year of publication on the title page in blue ballpoint: "To Doris and Felix Popper / Who's Mom is a real doll! / -- My warmest good wishes to you both / -- John Fischetti -- " Felix Popper (1908-2000) was a conductor with the New York City Opera, his wife Doris (born 1924) an opera singer with that same company. An all-around memorable copy.
