Obtained from the estate of the book's translator Dr. Samuel Emmett Parker (but without any identifying markings as such), professor emeritus of French at The University of Alabama who taught at both the undergraduate and graduate levels beginning in 1964 until his retirement in 1990 with his instructional focuses on the French language and French literature particularly 20th-century French theatre and novels.
