Prima edizione Copia autografata
Hardcover. Condizione: Near fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Very good. First edition. Signed on the front free endpaper by Van Strum. Uncommon signed and an uncommon book in general. It tells about her important campaign against the use of timber crop (post-logging regrowth) herbicides also found in Agent Orange in the Suislaw National Forest of Oregon. She and her husband formed Citizens Against Toxic Sprays (CATS), documented widespread fraud in testing, and took on the Forest Service, the EPA, Dow Chemical, and timber companies, bringing important early attention to this environmental justice issue. Her extensive records and documentation are now known as the Poison Papers and were acquired by Columbia University. In 2018, she was awarded the David Brower Lifetime Achievement Award for her contributions to forestry policy. A very near fine book with one minuscule tear to rear lower board edge; in a very good jacket with an inch-long tear to lower front edge near spine and some fraying to top of spine.
