This book by field ecologist and writer Susan Tweit is a journal style memoir. It chronicles a single year Tweit spent exploring the urban and natural landscapes of Boulder, Colorado. The book shifts focus away from massive, remote areas of wilderness areas to the "pieces of light" - the patches, pockets, and skies of nature found within the city limits. This copy has been signed by the author. A very clean copy.

Inscribed by the author. 8vo (5.75 x 9.25 in.). Book has beige cloth over boards, stamped silver lettering on the spine. It is in beautiful shape with sharp corners, no stains, etc. Binding is tight, pages are clean. On the title page the author has written: "For Christina-with hugs. Susan Tweit, RMBF, Denver (RMBF is for Rocky Mountain Book Fair). The jacket is very nice but the spine has been suno-faded to a light green, which contrasts (but also meshes) with the overall light burgundy on front and back. The cover features a drawing by Ann W. Douden, who also offers several drawings throughout the book. This is a beautiful quiet rumination, by month, of the author's move with her husband and stepdaughter to Boulder, CO, after living for years in the Pacific Northwest. Inscribed by Author(s).
