The author acknowledges that many find this idea troubling, but argues that it is not incompatible with God's goodness or justice. He supports this by pointing out that God is sovereign, and that he could have justly condemned all of humanity for sin. Instead, he chose to save some, an act of mercy that should inspire gratitude rather than resentment. The author also addresses the objection that Election discourages people from seeking salvation, arguing that God's provision of atonement and the universal proclamation of the gospel make it possible for all to be saved, regardless of their election status. Ultimately, this book provides a thoughtful and nuanced exploration of a complex doctrine, offering a fresh perspective that challenges common misconceptions and encourages a deeper understanding of God's nature and plan for humanity.
