This book examines the idea that God progressively revealed himself through three distinct 'Temples': the Temple of stone in Jerusalem, the Immanuel (Jesus Christ), and the Christian Church. The author argues that each of these three stages in God's revelation was accompanied by a unique manifestation of the Divine presence, with the most abstract and spiritual revelation being attached to the third stage - the era of the Christian Church. The author explores how the differences between these three stages were accommodated to the evolving spiritual, moral, and intellectual state of humanity, and the corresponding changes in God's dispensations. The book concludes by considering how the concept of a triune God is connected to this progressive development of God's revelation.
